Features	About HDMI TO DVI - The HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable connects your DVI-equipped computer, or any other device with a DVI connection, to your home theater or any other device that utilizes an HDMI connection. You can also use it to connect source devices with an HDMI connection, like Blu-Ray, PlayStation 3, or Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One to a DVI-equipped monitor or television set. This cable supports high-bandwidth, uncompressed video, and provides your system with high-definition video quality. HDMI to DVI for Quality - HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the only industry-standard interface for transmitting uncompressed digital data. HDMI cables are intended for use with a wide range of everyday electronic components, such as computers and a home theater system’s screen. HDMI provides video, especially at high resolutions, and renders small, high-contrast details, such as text, in high quality. DVI (Digital Visual Interface) is a video-interface standard that provides quality transmissions on digital display devices such as flat-panel LCD computer displays and digital projectors. Audio will need to be transmitted through a separate audio cable(s) or through a fiber-optic (Toslink) cable as the DVI connector of this cable is not fitted for audio capability. Support - This cable offers optimal support for resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 and is intended to connect computers and other source components with HDMI outputs--such as Blu-Ray players or Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox One game consoles--to DVI-equipped televisions or monitors. Gold-Plated Connectors for Superior Conductivity - Gold-plated contacts provide full conductivity with no data loss. To ensure compatibility, it's best to check your component product manuals to determine what kind of connections your components require. Installation - Plug-&-play: Ready to use, once each end is connected to a compatible device

Manufacturer Contact Info

The Nippon Labs DVI-5-HDMI is a 15-foot HDMI-male-to-DVI-male cable for connecting HDMI and DVI video devices, supporting resolutions up to 1920 × 1200; it suits users who need a longer reach between a computer, console, or Blu-ray player and a compatible display.

Recommended For

People connecting an HDMI-equipped desktop or laptop to a DVI-D monitor for everyday work, web browsing, or a second screen, when resolutions up to 1920 × 1200 meet their needs.
Users placing a compatible computer, console, or other HDMI video source up to 15 feet from a DVI-equipped display, such as when arranging a desk or older monitor setup.
People reusing a DVI monitor or projector with an HDMI video source who want a direct digital-video connection rather than replacing the display.
Viewers connecting an HDMI source to a DVI display when video is all they need and audio will come from separate speakers or another audio connection.

Real-World Use Scenarios

Connect a computer’s HDMI output to an older monitor’s DVI input to reuse it as a main or second screen; the cable carries video, while computer audio must use a separate connection.
Connect a DVI-equipped desktop computer to an HDMI monitor or TV when the computer’s DVI output and the display’s HDMI input are the available ports; expect video, but plan a separate audio route if sound is needed.
Use an HDMI-equipped game console with a DVI monitor for gameplay when the monitor lacks HDMI; picture can reach the screen, but console audio needs headphones, speakers, or another separate audio connection.
Place a computer or other HDMI source farther from a DVI display in a desk or home setup; the 15-foot cable offers extra reach without needing a short adapter plus another cable.
Connect an HDMI-output laptop to a DVI monitor for work such as documents, web browsing, or presentations when the monitor is the available display; confirm the devices support a compatible resolution and use separate audio if needed.
