Pros: 2 X HDMI, DVI and VGA Inputs
Anti glare panel
Cons: Doesn't wake up from standby when using HDMI input
Overall Review: Read all the reviews, but bought one anyway (hoping to be among the 40% who tared this monitor 5 stars).
As reported by many others, monitor went into right into standby after being turned on, but then would not wake up until the computer booted Windows and the power button was cycled on again. Wasn't a problem when using VGA, but that's not why I purchased this monitor.
All computer settings correct (e.g. never sleep, never hibernate etc., so opened case with ASUS support. They said there have been no reported problems with wakeup and said to return the monitor to Newegg.
My particular unit had no bad pixels, blotchy areas or light bleed and would have very much liked to keep it.
Opted to return it for refund vs. taking another chance with receiving a unit with other issues, have ASUS not honor the $20 rebate etc. (e.g. read reviews).
Took 2 weeks to process the refund and have my CC credited (less the shipping cost paid to purchase the monitor).
Pros: Quick and easy install in Dell Inspiron 3542 laptop (e.g. 4th gen i3 processor), which only has a single RAM memory slot and enabled an upgrade from the factory installed 4 GB to 8 GB.
Received a 15% off Newegg email promotional code and ordered. Shipped same day and the free 4 - 7 business day shipping arrived in 3 business days.
Overall Review: Had previously upgraded the laptop, from the factory installed HDD, with a Samsung EVO 850 SSD (also purchased from Newegg), which made a tremendous performance difference (e.g. much more than increasing the RAM 2X).
The total cost of the 2 upgrades was around $100 and performance wise, turned a $289 Dell budget laptop into a one that would cost 2 - 3X more.
Pros: Genuine HP.
Overall Review: At Newegg price, why take chances with refurbished cartridges (e.g. refill toner on previously used mechanicals?
With free delivery (ordered Monday, received Wednesday), no sales tax, price was half of what the local National office supply stores.
Pros: Price.....with NeweggFlash promotion, the price (delivered) was less than $ .40 / GB Thank you Newegg.
Reliability.......endurance is 2X that of the 840 EVO (e.g. 75TBW vs. 40TBW) and backed by a 5 year warranty.
Performance......while many other SSDs will R/W large sequential files at 500+ MB/s. Where the 850 EVO really shined, was it's fast R/W performance with small/random files (e.g. the ones most frequently encountered).
Cons: The supplied Samsung migration software does not clone the HDD recovery partition (see below).
Overall Review: Purchased to replace the HDD in a new laptop (e.g. 15.6" touch screen, 64 bit Win 8.1, 500GB HDD, i3 Haswell processor, 4 GB RAM, DVD, USB 2.0 x 2 and 3.0 ports, HDMI etc.) that cost $299, set to boot to desktop mode. Great, inexpensive upgrade that flies (e.g. boots Win 8.1 in 5 seconds, programs load and run instantaneously.
Samsung data migration does not copy the manufactuer's backup / recovery file (e.g. may be a legal thing as Samsung makes PCs too). Made a USB thumb drive backup / recovery image before doing the clone.
When I first turned on the new laptop, there were more 65 important Windows updates to install. Also deleted all the bloatware. Hint: Use the Windows clean disk utility to delete the huge amount of unneeded files and then do a HDD defrag before cloning to the SSD.
Pros: Great value
Included Acronis TrueImage 2014 license
Noticeable performance increases on laptop with SATA II host bus adapter
Overall Review: Replaced 320GB 5400 rpm HDD in in 4 year old Windows 7 laptop.
While the motherboard is only SATA II, Windows Experience Index storage transfer increased from 5.4 to 7.8. Boots in 15 seconds and programs run much faster (e.g. virus scans now run in less than half the time).
Mos t of the install time was doing a disk cleanup, defrag and backup on the old HDD. The Acronis TrueImage clone was straightforward and complete ( e.g. even enabled TRIM, disabled indexing etc.).
Pros: USB 3 capability, enclosure securely holds drive, indicator light shows connectivity/data transfer and price/value.
Overall Review: Purchased this item along with SSD, to clone my laptop's existing HDD via USB 2.
Worked as advertised (e.g. some USB 3 controllers don't downshift to USB 2 very well).
Although I did not need USB 3 capability this time, an excellent investment.for the future.
