Excellent portable monitor for road warriors
Pros: Much brighter than my MB168B+, I used this screen to watch a movie, the MB168+ was too dark Beautiful picture Good viewing angles Works easily via a USB port on my Yoga 3 Pro (Windows 10) I downloaded the driver from the ASUS site before it arrived, plugged in and it worked immediately: https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/MB16AC/HelpDesk_Download/ I highly recommend the widget utility too, rather than trying to change settings with the buttons on the monitor. The screen rotation worked automatically too, no setting changes required. It really is pretty Overall, very pleased with the monitor. Yes it is expensive and I keep thinking it is a touch screen like my laptop, however a very worthy upgrade from the MB168B+ and for road warriors like me, worth the money.
Cons: Minor cons really: Although some people have complained about confusion with the smart case, I had no trouble using it to support the monitor. I agree the instructions are lame but it only took a minute to work out the different configurations. The included pen is good for the wow factor but it is not as stable as using the case. I do worry the case won't be enough to prevent accidental screen damage while traveling (which happened to my MB168B+ - hence why I bought this monitor) so I am looking for a low profile padded case for it too. The profile is slightly longer than a 15" computer so a standard 15" neoprene case won't work. It is a glossy screen, not matte. So is my laptop screen so I am used to it. If you really hate the occasional glare with a glossy screen, this won't be any different.
