Specifically engineered to accommodate smaller heads, this child-friendly hearing protector offers an ideal solution for children with heightened auditory sensitivities or those who require a quieter environment for focused activities such as reading.
The Hush Buddy is equipped with plush, cushioned ear pads that fully encompass the ears, providing superior noise isolation by blocking out maximum external sounds. Unlike other models that merely rest on the ears, our design ensures a snug yet comfortable fit, enhancing the overall noise reduction experience.
Standing out in the industry, the Hush Buddy boasts an impressive Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 27dB. This means it allows 24.2% less sound intrusion compared to its closest competitors, offering your child a significantly quieter environment.
Designed with user comfort in mind, the Hush Buddy features a padded headband that evenly distributes weight, ensuring maximum comfort even during extended periods of use. With no assembly required, the Hush Buddy is ready to deliver optimal auditory protection right out of the box.
Invest in the Califone Hush Buddy Hearing Protector with Tiger Theme, and provide your child with the quiet, focused environment they need to thrive.

The Califone Hush Buddy Tiger is a kids’ hearing protector headphone, suited to children who need a child-oriented hearing-protection option.
Recommended For
- Children with auditory sensitivities who need a quieter setting for classroom activities, reading, or time at home; Califone describes the Hush Buddy as child-sized hearing protection for added quiet.
- Children who use over-ear protection during occasional loud events, such as concerts or sporting events, when the goal is to reduce incoming noise rather than listen to audio.
- Teachers and caregivers setting up a quiet-work option for children who benefit from reduced ambient noise while reading or concentrating.
- Families looking for passive, child-sized earmuffs for noise reduction; the Hush Buddy is described as sound-deadening protection, with no audio connection.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- During independent reading or quiet work at school, a child wears the Hush Buddy to reduce surrounding noise and focus more easily on the activity.
- For a child who is sensitive to everyday sounds, the earmuffs can make noisy classroom periods feel less overwhelming by reducing ambient noise.
- In a busy shared space at home or school, a child can wear the Hush Buddy while doing a quiet activity to hear less of the surrounding commotion.
- At a noisy school or community event, a child can use the earmuffs to soften nearby sound and make the setting more comfortable; they are hearing protectors, not audio-playback headphones.
