The iStarUSA T-7M1-SA-BLUE is a SATA hot-swap mobile rack that fits one 5.25-inch drive bay, designed for PC and server builders who need removable SATA storage with plug-and-play support and power and activity indicators.
Recommended For
- Desktop users who regularly move a 3.5-inch SATA drive between computers and have an available external 5.25-inch bay can use the rack to swap the drive without opening the case each time.
- PC builders who rotate SATA hard drives for backups, system images, or maintenance can benefit from a removable, hot-swap drive bay—provided their system supports hot swapping.
- Desktop users who want a straightforward internal drive installation can use it to mount a SATA drive in a 5.25-inch bay; a hands-on review found installation simple and drive transfer speeds comparable to a directly mounted drive in its test system.
- Users who want airflow around a frequently used internal hard drive may value the rack’s aluminum construction and built-in blower fan; a review reported lower drive temperatures in its test setup.
