The StarTech.com ST128HD20 is an 8-port HDMI 2.0 splitter that sends one source to as many as eight displays at up to 4K 60Hz, making it suitable for digital signage, presentations, and other setups that need the same picture on multiple screens.
Recommended For
- Retailers or venue operators who need one media player to show the same 4K content on up to eight digital-signage screens.
- AV teams in control rooms or video-production spaces that need to distribute one detailed 4K60 feed to multiple displays.
- Schools, clinics, or other institutions that need the same announcements or information visible on screens in several rooms or waiting areas.
- Installers setting up a fixed, powered HDMI distribution system for as many as eight TVs, monitors, or projectors, with the same picture and audio on each.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- A business feeds one signage player to TVs around a store or lobby; each screen shows the same content, so staff can update one source instead of managing separate players.
- A classroom or training room sends one computer’s presentation to several displays; attendees can view the same image on screens around the room, rather than getting separate desktop workspaces.
- A showroom or electronics shop mirrors a product demo from one HDMI source to multiple TVs or monitors, keeping the displayed video consistent across the sales floor.
- A venue distributes a game, event feed, or other video from one HDMI source to TVs in several areas; viewers see the same program on each connected screen, with compatible audio carried over HDMI.
- An installer connects one 4K source to a mix of newer and older TVs or projectors; the displays can share the feed, but the output settings may need to match the capabilities of the display connected to output 1.
