LOADING...
The AddOn DISPORT2VGAMM3B is a 3-foot active DisplayPort-to-VGA male-to-male cable that converts a computer’s digital DisplayPort output for a VGA monitor, supporting resolutions up to 1920×1200. It suits users connecting a DisplayPort computer to a VGA display within a short distance.
Recommended For
- People keeping a VGA-only monitor at a desk with a DisplayPort-equipped desktop or laptop nearby; the 3-foot active cable connects the two directly without a separate adapter.
- Office workers who want to reuse a VGA monitor as a secondary screen for everyday desktop tasks, provided the display’s resolution is within the cable’s supported range.
- Presenters connecting a DisplayPort computer to a nearby VGA projector in a meeting room or classroom, where a short cable run is sufficient.
- Users with a compatible DisplayPort output who need to convert its digital video signal for an existing analog VGA display; this model uses active conversion.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- At a desk with a DisplayPort desktop and a VGA-only monitor, connect the monitor as a secondary screen for extra workspace without replacing the display.
- In a meeting room with a VGA projector, connect a DisplayPort laptop to show slides or other computer content on the room’s existing projection system.
- When a desktop or laptop is replacing older equipment, keep a working VGA monitor in service by connecting it to the computer’s DisplayPort output.
- For a classroom or auditorium presentation, connect a DisplayPort computer to an existing VGA projector so the computer’s image can be shown to the room.
- At a compact workstation where the computer is close to the VGA monitor, use the short integrated cable for a direct connection without a separate adapter and extra video cable.
