Online retailer to broadcast winning entry touting industry-leader’s customer focus and selection
CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – Newegg.com, a premier U.S. technology online retailer, has revealed the winner of its first-ever video contest. The grand prize was awarded to William Urbina for his submission, “Why I Choose Newegg.” Nineteen other talented Newegg fans received prizes and special recognition.
An overwhelming number of talented and passionate customers submitted their home-made commercials, highlighting what they love about the online technology superstore. Submissions were judged based on originality, creativity, appeal and how well the content addressed the customer experience. Urbina, of Los Angeles, Calif., will receive a 37” Westinghouse LCD HDTV, and have the unique experience of seeing his award-winning work broadcast on cable television this July.
Newegg is well-known among the technology-enthusiast community. It has built an almost cult-like following based on its outstanding customer focus – exceptional service, fast shipping, vast product selection and competitive prices. Newegg officials hope that the winning commercial, which shows Urbina building his own computer on newegg.com, will extend awareness of the popular online retailer beyond its current customer base.

Not only did we receive more submittals than expected, but we were tremendously impressed with the talent of our customers.”

This is the first of many contests the online retailer plans to hold to showcase Newegg’s large product selection, great service and its loyal customers.
