The Planar PCT2785 is a 27-inch Full HD touchscreen monitor with projected-capacitive touch, a built-in HD webcam and microphone, and HDMI, DisplayPort, and analog video inputs—well suited to users who want an interactive desktop display for work, presentations, or touch-enabled applications.
Recommended For
- Windows users who want a large, touch-first desktop for direct screen interaction, including pinch-zooming, scrolling, and other multi-touch gestures.
- Software developers, designers, and corporate power users who want a fixed-desk, large-format touch display for interactive work; Planar specifically positioned it for these groups.
- Retail or other shared-workspace operators who need a stationary interactive screen that can tilt toward users and includes a webcam, microphone, and USB hub.
- DIY smart-home or information-dashboard users building a stationary touch-control setup; community users report using the PCT2785 with home-automation dashboards, though touch compatibility may depend on the connected computer and software.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- On a Windows desktop, a user can tap, pinch to zoom, and scroll directly on the screen instead of relying only on a mouse; a review found these gestures responsive after touch calibration.
- A software developer or designer can use the large touch surface to interact directly with compatible Windows applications; Planar positions the display for software development and design, as well as corporate use.
- In a retail setting, staff can use touch-friendly software to look up products or show information to customers; Planar identifies retailers as a target audience for the PCT2785.
- For video calls or online meetings, a user can connect the monitor’s built-in webcam and microphone to a computer, avoiding the need to position separate camera and mic hardware on the desk.
- A user who already has a standard monitor can add the PCT2785 as a second, touch-enabled display for tasks that benefit from direct on-screen interaction; Planar specifically describes pairing it with a non-touch monitor.
