Works like a charm!

IOGEAR GCS1742 2-Port Dual View KVM Switch w/Audio and USB Peripheral Sharing
IOGEAR GCS1742 2-Port Dual View KVM Switch w/Audio and USB Peripheral Sharing

Pros: Works as expected, relatively small footprint, comes with all the necessary cables so you don't have to purchase anything extra (as with some KVMs)

Cons: Video degradation is noticable (but what KVM switch doesn't have this problem)? Experienced odd behavior when using it w/o the power supply (but worked flawlessly when using the included P/S).

Overall Review: A lot of users here (and elsewhere on the internet) have complained about problems galore when using IOGEAR KVMs with NVidia Nforce4-based motherboards. I have such a motherboard but bought this particular switch anyway based on a couple of workarounds I read about. To my surprise the swtich worked flawlessly on my Nforce4 MB without having to resort to the workarounds, so I guess IOGEAR (or NVidia) may have finally resolved the problems! My only complaint is the video degradation - both of my PCs have dual DVI connections so I have to use DVI-2-VGA adapters which may also be contributing to the problem, but overall the video is not that bad, just not as sharp as before. There are a couple of other KVMs out there that do dual-DVI, but they either do not have all the features of this one (or are too expensive) - so I'll use this until IOGEAR comes out with a DVI version of this model.
