Pros: - Brilliant IPS 17” screen, super bright giving you 12Hz of 1920 x 1080 - AMD Ryzen 7 (four cores with CMT, AMD’s equivalent of HT) idling at 2300MHz with maximum frequency at 4 GHz, gives you please of horsepower - 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, this is not your regular SSD or even standard PCIe M.2 SSD, it is a super-fast NVMe which gives you blazing fast boot up and loading of games and other programs - Duel GPU’s one is native and integrated on the Ryzen chip (Radeon RX Vega 10), the other is a GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, very powerful and gives you what you need running the latest games. I ran COD at full throttle at max settings, no lag whatsoever - Case is beautiful, robust military grade design and quite light for what you get - RGB backlit - Price is reasonable at $1k for what you get - Two fans in the back are very effective in keeping the CPU/GPU cool while gaming - Love the keyboard, especially the light great W-A-S-D keys for gaming - Battery life is not bad at all, I get a full 3 hrs of gaming, web browsing probably 8 hrs easy
Cons: - The touch pad is clunky and noisy - No SSD slot if you want to add another SSD, very surprised about that - No software included with the box, could be because I received this as review sample from Newegg - Fans in the back can get pretty noisy, not a big distraction though. - Cant set the backlit as one solid color, a bit annoying that the colors cycle (Edit, if you install TUF Aura Core from the MS store you can set the colors). Had to google it, not a big deal but still keeping it in the “con” section - Could have used 32 GB of RAM for such a high end laptop
Overall Review: This is my second gaming laptop and an Asus as well, my 1st one I bought myself and had two video cards of which you can removed. It was heavy and battery lasted on the couple of hrs. This Asus TUF gaming laptop came with the latest hardware, very impressed with the CPU although I’m an Intel die-hard fan. The GPU and SSD are incredible. Overall look, design and aesthetics of the laptop is world class. The laptop is heavy as are all high end gaming laptop, so don’t expect to drag it all over campus. I’m also a big supporter of Asus, they design and build quality hardware and this laptop is a great example of what you can expect from Asus. The touchpad is horrible, so I’m deducting one star for that only, which is s pity as I love touch pads in general All in all a great buy if you want to replace your aging gaming laptop. I can recommend this to anyone want to upgrade and get a laptop from a reputable manufacturer of gaming hardware like Asus. Thanks Newegg for the sample, had a lot of fun with it.
Pros: - Speedy Ryzen Processor. - Quietly Efficient. - Superfast SSD. - 16 GB DDR4 RAM. - ASUS Quality and Branding - Excellent Keyboard - Asus Armoury Crate Software / Aura Sync - Brilliant Touchpad - Easy upgrading of Software, drivers, and BIOS - Handles any games without issue (so far) - Dual fan dust free system - TUF casing (aluminum shell)
Cons: - Slight bend in the keyboard when typing feverishly (nothing bad but I did notice it while typing this). - Screen has a slight bend to it. Nothing terrible but I mean some people could easily break this if not careful. - Annoying pop-ups letting me know what mode the fan settings are (OK I get it I have it set to Turbo/Performance I don't need to be told when you do it). - Can get hot on the base, like most powerful laptops can (the work MacBook Pros get hot but they are like a huge heatsink anyways)
Overall Review: I waited a good bit to write this (a couple weeks if I am not mistaken) because I have NEVER had a gaming laptop in my life or ever used one. I am impressed with this hardware. I am a huge fan of the Ryzen processors and they are some of the best out right now (about time you came back AMD!!!). The keyboard is a pleasure to type on and it has a great touch to input ratio. Not loud at all but very tactile and accurate and quiet. I have been playing Assassin's Creed Fates of Atlantis, TLOH: Cold Steel 3, and a few others and they have not stuttered or slowed down whatsoever. I love the GNC of AMD iGPU and the GTX 1660 (honestly this and the 2660 is about the same). I have had an Nvidia GPU since before they bought out Voodoo (long time ago). The DTS/DOLBY sound in games is great and the AIO port for headphones works well. I have tested it out on my old Plantronics Stereo Headset/Mic and it sounds fantastic. I have also tested it on a Wired set of Corsair RGB 7.1 headsets and the sound if fantastic. I am a little miffed at Windows 10 Home but it is what it is and it works fine. I recommend updating on first use because as always Windows will make you. Last bit of information I will throw out there is the very little bit of bloatware. Minus the ridiculous McAfee AV it had only a trial of Office. Overall I am impressed with this and while not as powerful as my own built Gaming Laptop (Ryzen 2600x, 32 GB GEIL Portenza DDR4 RAM, 2.5 TB SSDs (mix of NVME and 2.5" SSD) and Dual Radeon 590x) it handles anything I throw at ii with aplomb. I will say that I can have my monitor display in 4K and it looks fantastic on the laptop. You will not regret buying this.
Pros: *17.3" IPS 120Hz 1920x1080 panel - smooth, responsive, and gaming quality is pretty great. *4core 8thread Ryzen CPU - typical clock in low to high 3.0GHz during gaming or heavy loads *16GB of SKHynix DDR4 2400 RAM *512GB NVMe Micron 2200V SSD *decent Camera - works well on video calls. *empty 2.5" internal drive bay *No bloatware - Asus software and McAfee Security only along with the normal Windows 10 stuff *Not oversized - fits in 15" laptop bag *Keyboard - spaced well and typing is very accurate and comfortable *Solid build - plastic, but very dense.
Cons: *Touchpad - loose, loud, and jumpy. I use a mouse, so not a problem. *Combo Audio Jack - Would prefer separate headphone/mic jacks. Higher end Asus has a combo jack and separate mic jack. Would not switch to headset until I went into the audio driver and reselect the headphones the first time. Also happens on occasion afterwards. Had poor sound quality until I went into the Windows Speaker Properties and DISABLED "Enable audio enhancements". It then sounded quite great. *No access panels or popout battery - You must remove all 11 screws on the bottom and carefully use a flat shim tool to pop the entire bottom off. *Older model - The ASUS TUF Gaming A17 is the upgraded model of this with better specs for a small price increase.
Overall Review: For $1000 this is a very capable gaming laptop. It functions well as an everyday machine and gaming laptop. I tested this playing a number of games including Witcher 3, Battlefield 1, along with a few lesser games like Minecraft and some indie titles. At no time did I feel it was lacking.
Pros: Very fast for a laptop Solidly built Quiet Nice keyboard Compact for this screen size
Cons: It's heavy for a laptop, about six pounds on my scale, plus a pound for the power brick.
Overall Review: I would not suggest this for a device that you are going to carry around a lot due to the weight, but it is great as a powerful computer you keep in your home. It's fantastic for gaming and I am very pleased with the way it runs Adobe Lightroom.
Pros: -17'' screen in a 15'' chasis - Fans keep the machine nice and cool during gaming - Solid construction, it doesn't feel cheap or like it will break - Empty 2.5'' bay slot so you can toss in another SSD -Ryzen integrated graphics when not gaming save battery power.
Cons: -The wifi on this machine is really temperamental. It randomly drops when I log in to the machine. It has not done it during gameplay, but when you first load into windows it will say no internet yet the network is still being seen and every other device is still working fine. I have tried updating the drivers(they are current). The concern I have is even the Realtech website doesn't list the NIC on their support drivers. The other issue is most of the time the wifi reverts to 4 rather than 5 and drops support of 5ghz and mimo, so you're capped at about 60-70 mbps which is still fast, but annoying at the same time. -seems like they missed an opportunity to add some more vents to the bottom of this thing. As I mentioned above it runs pretty cool, but at the same time, more airflow is better? might be time to break out the Dremel...
Overall Review: Overall it's a solid machine, plenty of power to run most titles with medium effort. I didn't knock the review down due to the NIC primarily because it's something that *should* be able to be fixed with a driver update, but time will tell.
Pros: Faster boot up times with solid state drive. Superior graphics Ability to upgrade/add additional memory and SSD drive
Cons: none!
Overall Review: This has been an excellent replacement for an older laptop that was ready to give up the ghost. Slight fan noise is negligible during regular use, especially since there is no hard drive noise with the SSD option
Pros: Great performance in modern games. Display is very beautiful and bright
Cons: Gets a little loud under GPU load but that's normal with every laptop I think
Overall Review: I would definitely recommend this laptop. I bought it for my wife who plays World of Tanks and she gets 150+ fps with everything maxed. I also installed CoD Warzone on it to test and still gets 100fps or so with max settings. Very solid laptop and a great price point.

Pros: * Nice 120Mhz IPS monitor can be seen from a wide angle. It is sharp with vivid color. * This computer appears to be well built and sturdy . * Windows 10 is installed on a Micron 512Gb M.2 card for fast boots and fast read/writes. * Empty bay for a 2.5 " drive * A competitive gaming machine right out of the box.
Cons: *no ssd slot * All 3 USB slots are on the left side. To use a mouse or any usb controller. the cable must wrap around the back, if you are right handed. * The touch/click pad is smooth to the touch. It works well as long as your fingers are clean. if your finger is oily or damp it might not react. A bit more texture would be appreciated.
Overall Review: For everyday use, the Radeon RX Vega 10 is automatically used. Connecting to my gaming monitor with HDMI automatically used the NVIDIA graphics. the NVIDIA driver software will let you choose: auto-select, Radeon or NVIDIA graphics. if there is any doubt. Armoury Crate software, already installed, allows you to change most anything that you would want to change. I ran several benchmarks, all with good scores. The real tests though is how does it perform in actual games. Running Call of Duty Modern Warfare on high textures, high lighting and high resolution, everything ran very smoothly with no lag. PUBG Also ran great on high settings While you won't compete with the guys that live to game and have spent their life saving on a gaming system, you will, have a lot of fun, be competitive, and keep some cash in your pocket. If you're looking for a competitive gaming machine for a good price. I definitely can recommend giving this one serious consideration. I certainly would.
