Where can one buy said syrup ?

this unit doesn't use syrup. it uses filters and ground coffee.

I assume this has a clock. Is it backed up by a battery? I have a similarly complex machine but we lose power a lot here in Florida. Can the clock survive a short power loss, a couple of minutes, without losing time? The programmable functions are useless if the clock is always wrong.

Just buy an inexpensive battery backup and you're all set.
