Pros: This card is nearly as good as can be had for a mid range card. Old games look much better set at the highest settings and new games are very playable especially if the card is over clocked. If your case is well ventilated the stock fan can handle the heat when over clocked using ccc and if you have any doubts there are vga coolers for $30 available that will have the card running in the 30-55C range. All drivers installed without problems including the 7.1 HDMI sound driver. This card is worth every penny that Newegg charges for it.

Cons: There is a con. The con is that HDI or possibly ATI decided to require a special dongle for the DVI-HDMI connection. An ordinary adapter will not work and even an adapter from the 2000 series cards will not work. It must be Item #: N82E16814999010 and it is not included with the card. Any other adapter will give picture with no sound and you will see a popup screen telling you that your adapter will not allow the transmission of sound. So if you intend to use this card as a part of a home entertainment system connected via HDMI do not forget to order the adapter along with the card or face an extra shipping charge about equal to the price of the adapter. I was sure the adapter from my 2600 XT card would work and I even read the HIS web site about the 4800 series cards. Nowhere did they mention the requirement of a special adapter.

Overall Review: I don't think I mentioned that the fan on this card is much quieter then my old Sapphire 2600XT card. I can sleep with the computer on in the same room. If a 4870 or 4890 is just not in your budget this card is the next best thing and a bit greener as well.

Pros: Runs cool, fast and has a 3 year warranty. Much smaller than the x1950 pro I replaced. Looks industrial, and performs as such. Newegg fast and free shipping: ordered Sunday, playing on thursday afternoon!

Cons: Could not download drivers from HIS, for some reason their link appeared broken. Just got 'em from ATI and it runs great, not a big deal.

Overall Review: My former x1950 pro was a heat monster, it died and now I'm happy to have this 4850. This card has not exceeded 52 C while playing COD4 at 1920x1080, 2x AA and all graphics turned up. 40-50 fps. This is with a AMD 6400+, 4gb, K9a platinum, 7200rpm HD and windows xp so DX9. For the price I'm very satisfied, and judging by the very mild temps I'm seeing, I hope this card lasts a long time.

Pros: Maxs out Vista graphics test quiet and cool.

Cons: This card will work with Avermedia tuner cards but it will randomly lock up and the ATI drivers will crash and recover when switching between digital and analog channels. Not sure what it is the tuner card the motherboard settings or the graphics card tried every combination I could think of could not get them to play well together. 1 gig version for Twenty Dollars more!!!!!!

Overall Review: Took the Tuner card out put it in a machine with an ATI 2600X PCIe running Windows 7 all beta drivers runs like an atomic clock. This card I have installed on a Vista machine with 9.2 drivers auto tunes to 690 X 1188 very impressed with it runs at about 39 degrees C after applying Artic Silver 5 ThermalTake M9 case turning 4 120 mm fans Artic cooling all the way with a Pro 7 freezer on a E8500 CPU. Happy hunting!

Pros: Good performace for the money and its quiet, cool and no issues whatsoever! Runs Stalker/clearskye and COD4 really well and i don't hear the fan or have any overheating issues.

Cons: Not the prettiest card on the market but it's inside the case out of veiw so who cares...

Overall Review: I bought this card mainly for running extended desktop on my dual 24" Samsung monitors for work. It does that very very well and if i feel like playing games I can do that as well...

Pros: Great card, runs modern games like a champ. UT3 runs on all high settings at 1440x900 and doesn't miss a beat. TF2 and CS:S run great as well. Temps remain cool compared with other 4850 options because of the 3rd party cooler HIS placed onto it. Well worth the investment.

Cons: I got some visual artifacts and a crash when I tried overclocking it using ATI's overclocking feature but setting it back to normal clock rates and those problems disappeared.

Overall Review: I got this on sale for $139.99, can't beat that price for a good video card! I haven't had it for long but I'm real happy with it so far.

Pros: -price- got it for 74 bucks. there is a code for an extra 10 bucks off. -runs cooler then my 8800gtx and sucks less juice. only need 1 pci-e power adapter. - free game stalker clear sky. sold it for 10 bucks. - could not say enough good things about this card.

Cons: -None.

Overall Review: I play alot of RTS so i don't need the super high end card. This thing runs Empire at 40 FPS on high setting.

Pros: No problems with drivers as of yet. Plays everything I throw at it on high with no problems. I have adequate airflow in my case and this card overclocked like a champ!! 690 mhz core and 1188 mhz ram using the auto-tune feature. Temp stays below 56 deg C. period.

Cons: Heavy card, don't know if it's really a con, but it seems like it could fall right out of the pci-e slot if it wasn't clipped on the end.

Overall Review: I wonder if the majority of people with complaints create problems for themselves by not doing their homework.

Pros: Price (AR)=$74.49 total, temperatures = 39c idle to 57c max, very stable OC with catalyst control center of 690 MHz gpu clock/1188 MHz memory clock, game L4D all settings max w/4xAA and 4xAS 1650x1050 22" monitor, FPS = 76 avg. and it will fit a uBTX motherboard.

Cons: None so far, but I'm not sure how I should feel about my GTX295 now.
