Pros: This laptop is a great value for what you get. You cannot find a laptop out there that beats this ones amazing specs for the price. It has dual core processing at 2.3GHZ which (in my opinion) is pretty good for a cheaper laptop. The battery life is much better than I expected; it handled installing all of my software, uninstalling some of the stuff on it all the while streaming music and surfing the web for 3 hours and was only at 50%!!! The speaker quality is much better than other laptops that I've dealt with. On top of everything else, it has a video card that isn't awful which was way more than I expected at this price. You may have to turn the graphics or resolution down on some games but it will run lots. This is an incredibly well rounded computer.

Cons: The only downside so far has been all the bloat-ware that came bundled in with it. It's not too big of a deal though because it doesn't take long to uninstall (if you aren't an idiot who can't uninstall something) and almost any pc you buy now-a-days comes with it. If you want to save time on the bloat-ware, just get a clean install of windows 7 and you will be amazed with how much better it runs.

Overall Review: Most of the complaints that I read about this were the thickness, the bloat-ware, and even not enough USB ports. Thickness: Personally, I like a laptop with a little heft. This lets me know that it is not a flimsy piece of plastic. If it is really so encumber-sum so carry, you probably shouldn't be walking. Bloat-ware: As I mentioned before, it doesn't take long to uninstall and after you do, you'll have an amazing machine. USB: What on earth was that guy talking about? It has enough for any mobile user. I have no idea how you could use more than 3 or 4 on a laptop that isn't stationary on a desk or even what they would be for. I'm going into college for a type of computer engineering and this computer will do everything I want and more. Don't hesitate to buy!!!

Pros: Perfect Size. Crystal Clear Screen. Fast 7200 RPM HDD, most laptops are 5400 standard. Windows 7. Comfortable keyboard. COST!! The cost for what you get on this laptop is excellent. Easily accessed volume controls. Great wireless range.

Cons: Shiny/Glare Scree. Sometimes the touchpad acts quirky. Too many unnecessary HP software/games preinstalled, which take some time to completely remove.

Overall Review: I ordered this laptop for my husband for Father's Day and everyone in the house loves it. It is so much nicer than my bulkier, and much more costly Dell Inspirion. Everyone in the house wants to use Daddy's laptop. My teeanager is currently saving his money so he can buy one just like it for himself. It would be more than adequate to serve as the main laptop in our home.

Pros: Inexpensive -- hardware to price equation is great. Still can't believe how responsive this thing is for the hardware... the remote control is so responsive with Media Center, too. Many other pros.

Cons: HP... your bloatware has hit a new level. It's not funny to us anymore, quit it!

Overall Review: 5 stars without the 2 hours of bloatware to uninstall. Initial startup had **80** (EIGHTY) processes running... and that was before windows updates added the regular additions. HP...that is just rediculous... I'm ridiculing you for it right now!

Pros: Nice looking computer for the price.

Cons: Looks nice but won't boot. Disk Manager said to insert systems disk and repair operating system. BRAND NEW computer and now I have to fix it.

Overall Review: New stuff should always work if QUALITY CONTROL is in place. No QC here and now, now, I have to wait for 5 days while the genius at HP customers service "mails" me a system disk. When if this is normal, he says it often happens. FIX IT HP before it gets to customers!! Dhhhh.

Pros: I bought this computer with the expectation that it would be used primarily for day to day word processing, internet usage and e-mail. I often stream music through I-tunes when I'm working on a task and this computer handles stuff like that perfectly. For the price I paid, I think I got a good little computer with a fantastic keyboard that makes typing a breeze. While the actual hardware of this computer is somewhat dated (800 MHz DDR2 ram, Turion II chip), its performance was very comparable to my father's i3 dv4i HP. Even though his rig has much faster ram and more GPU cache, I could not really notice a perceivable difference in performance when I ran them head to head. Keep in mind that most laptops are very limited by power consumption. Thus, the often dramatic difference between Intel "i" processor and amd's chip are less pronounced in notebooks.

Cons: See previously mentioned comparison to Intel i3 version of this notebook. While performance was about the same, the i3 was usually about 20-30 degrees cooler. This notebook's processor hit 180 degrees F on prime 95 while the i3 never got above 160. At idle this chip is at about 110 degrees F while the i3 hovers around 80. Thus you get less fan vibration with the i3's.

Overall Review: So, I picked this up for 600.00 with a 50.00 dollar mail in rebate. Because I live outside of California, I didn't have to pay tax, so it seemed like a great deal. That said, I would not buy this at its current 749.00 price. The i5 version is 50.00 bucks more and will run cooler, faster and in general be much better. HP needs to peg this computer between 500-600 bucks because it has been rendered somewhat obsolete because of the i3 & i5 processors. That said, it handles day to day computing just fine. One note, all my software programs seem to indicate I have 320 mb of dedicated video memory (specs say I should have 128) which is a really nice thing to have. Also, this computer scored higher than the i3 in all video card aspects because of the discrete GPU and cache of video ram. That said, any talk of running games on it is kind of silly. If you want to play games on a laptop you will need to get a larger model with better hardware.

Pros: Fast Computer, Sleek Design, Great sound for a laptop. I really enjoy the HP software, has a nice look and function

Cons: Vent is on the bottom, you can't set it anywhere directly without blocking it. It's a laptop and the vent is right where your left knee would be, when you run heavy programs it will literally burn your skin, I mean did they not even do a consumer study before they released it?

Overall Review: Its a good computer but I thought the graphics capability would be higher I guess I misunderstood the specifications. for a school laptop though it does everything I need it to do.

Pros: The things that Lappy has to offer are hard to beat for the price. 1. 7200 320GB HDD 2. The Brightview makes everything come to life, 3. The Keyboard lay out is great. (ctrl key is far left not the Fn key great for shortcut keys) 4. Weight is very easy to move around

Cons: 1 con that I can find. Only 2 USB ports and it would have been nice if they would have sent a HDMI cable..

Overall Review: If you are looking for a great laptop for a great price you cant go wrong with this. I use it to make movies and for Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and running VMwares for work. It does all that with out a problem. Cant wait for SSD to get cheaper!!

Pros: Full size keyboard, Solid construction, 7200 rpm hard drive, good processor, runs cool, can easily double as a boxee box when i plug it in to my tv.

Cons: Battery life is pretty terrible, but, considering the specs, you shouldn't be shocked. If you want super long battery life, get a netbook.

Overall Review: Its not the best laptop for gaming, but its not terrible. The 4200 gets a 5.4 rating for gaming graphics in the Windows Experience Index
