Pros: i bought something similar (HP 17" amd turion x2 w/ Nvidia GeForce 8600, Vista{64bit}) Good setup, full keyboard is nice and functional. you will really love the touch pad that controls sound and media options. the touch pad is very fun and incredibly responsive. the mouse pad can be somewhat twitchy but not too often and is also very responsive. the screen (one of the biggest things to concern yourself with when buying a laptop) is crystal clear and just stunning. the battery on this beast will last about 2hours and 10 minutes on high performance mode(this is the mode that does not save battery power whatsoever) and approximately 3 1/2 hours to 4 hours on power saver mode. heat dissipates really well. the IEEE 1394 port is not really a port the averag user will use but the 4usb2.0 ports and the HDMI ports are great. and it comes with a remote that fits in the side slot.i have not tested lightscribe, but it does have it. aesthetically this is one of the nicest computers you can buy
Cons: The vista setup can be a little uncomfortable if you just got off a system running XP. the screen can smudge fairly easily so if you have kids, little brothers, or sister you might want to keep the micro fiber cloth ,that comes with the computer, handy. the first time setup will take about a half hour. the hard drive is split for OS and system restore so you will lose about 12 gigs-/+ on HDD space. the web cam does not have a quick launch so it might take some time to find out how to use it. the Nvidia 7150 is a graphics accelerator so the use of this as a gaming system is not smart because the computer will not support it. both 32bit and 64bit operating systems have their pro's and cons but the 64 will allow 4gigs whereas the 32 will only allow 3gigs it will not read any more ram than that. the lid can be easily scratched like any computer so if you really like the design you will have to buy a protective sheet for it. the remote has a very short range, it says 10' but is actually
Overall Review: If you are a first time buyer of newegg then make sure that you are very specific with your order and credit card number address and such, their customer service, as legendary as it is, was less than helpful and it took over a week to get her, is that time i had to buy my HP from best buy.
