How much does it weigh?

I do not know (and have no way of determining) how much my machine weighs.  There are two howevers here.  One: it is very likely all laptop computers weigh within two pounds (about 1 Kg) of each other.  So, the differencaes in weight are immaterial.  Two: ask your vendor (the business that wants to sell the machine to you) what the weight is.  THEY HAVE TO KNOW!   Weight is a very basic part of any machine's specs, readily available, and they have to ship it.  If they say they do not know, maybe it is time to get a more knowledgeable vendor.

Question 3

I have a Lexmark Print Trio printer that needs to be plugged in to a computer to be used.  Is this computer compatible with it?

Yikes!  I have no experience with this combination.  It is my understanding you  need to have a driver for the printer that runs under Windows.  Usually, if you connect the printer to the computer Windows will go looking for the driver if it is not at hand.  Try it.  I don't believe you can do any harm.

how many usb ports does it have in it and how big is it exactly (inches X inches X inches) height ( thickness) X width X length ? i need specifics because i need to know if it will fit in my lock box? Thanks! MJ

Hello MJ,

The computer has:
- I was going to say it had 5 USB ports, but the documentation diagram identifies one of the things that looks like a USB port as an HDMI port. Also has an external monitor port
- Measures: 10"H x 14-3/4"W X ~1"D (possibly a tad less on the depth)

You didn't ask, but perhaps this will help you with your consideration: I've had it for a couple of months, and am quite satisfied with it, except that it boots up and loads slowly. (But I assume that after my computer guru comes back he can ditch some startup programs or other magic to take care of that.) It may not be much longer that you can get a never used, never unpacked PC with W7 installed. So unless you can find another, If this one won't fit, perhaps consider a larger lockbox, unless you're restricted in the size you can use.

Does this come with a windows 7 dvd?

It comes with an HP windows 7 reinstallation dvd.  But I honestly look for a different model. The AMD cpu in this unit is dog-slow. I bought two of these and even with all the bloat-ware stripped off they are much slower than a comparable Intel unit.

can the memory be upgraded from 4GB to 8GB?

Yes.  Merely buy a 4 GB memory chip from a reputable supplier making sure the voltage requirements match those of the computer.  Open up the botttom of the computer and snap the extra memory in its place.  That's it.

Is this OEM F2P92UT#ABA Brand new not refurbished?

My HP 455 G1 laptop was new out of the box.  Had my local IT guy do all the setups and file transfers, etc.

FYI - More on this unit:  All worked just fine until early August when the hard drive failed. All hard drive files/content was lost. I have no idea as to what happened as the unit was never abused and was totally protected power wise, etc. etc. The Newegg warranty was past. Manufacturer replacement fix would take several weeks with mail in and mail back, troubleshooting processes + replacement charges to be applied. Local Program set up would have to be re initiated after the fix and return.

I contacted my local IT guy and he took over.  He quoted me a quick turnaround and fix including the reset process at reasonable price--about the same as the manufacturer estimate with out program restorations.  He replaced the original internal hard drive with a more "industrial" grade Samsung 250GB "EVO" 840 SSD.  Fortunately, I had backed up most all of my office files, outlook, photos  to a backup external hard drive so we were able to restore most all files with minimal losses.  There were some others like Web Favorites that had to be rebuilt.  Back up your files and consider ordering this unit with an upgraded hard drive. The unit is much faster with the new upgraded version for sure.

Note: I had never experienced a hard drive failure with any of my many previous laptops --- over a 25 year period --- all of which withstood the extensive rigors of global travel.

Number of USB ports?

There are four USB ports on my machine.  Two are on the right side and are the USB 2 standard.  The two on the left side conform to the newer USB 3 standard.  All four can be used with USB 2 devices.

Is the keyboard backlit?

Keyboard backlight is not a listed feature nor do I see any function key on my own unit to indicate the feature exists.
