Pros: Comes with an adapter to convert it from 7 mm to 9.5 mm if necessary Firmware was newer than the most current version on their site (Version 583ABBF0) Really High Endurance – 354 TB Total Bytes written which if you do the math equates to roughly 330 GB of writes per day for 3 years straight. Ran excessive benchmarks and tests to try and break in the drive (Roughly 200 GB written) in order to ensure they were not likely to fail early on before configuring them for use. Initially and after my stress tests the drives reported no SMART errors of any kind and all of the values were good and where they should be. ATTO Disk Benchmark: • Read = 525.5 MB/s • Write = 490.0 MB/s Crystal Disk Mark (Uncompressed Files) • Sequential: Read = 404.1 MB/s, Write = 436.0 MB/s • 512k: Read = 377.8 MB/s, Write = 400.8 MB/s • 4k: Read = 24.40 MB/s, Write = 74.86 MB/s • 4k QD32: Read = 111.6 MB/s, Write = 196.3 MB/s Crystal Disk Mark (Compressed Files) • Sequential: Read = 380.2 MB/s, Write = 135.3 MB/s • 512k: Read = 361.8 MB/s, Write = 135.4 MB/s • 4k: Read = 22.55 MB/s, Write = 73.87 MB/s • 4k QD32: Read = 98.24 MB/s, Write = 135.0 MB/s AS SSD Benchmark IOPS: • 16MB: Read = 29.66 IOPS Write = 8.05 IOPS • 4K: Read = 3,785 IOPS Write = 15,533 IOPS • 4K-64 Thread Read = 14,034 IOPS Write = 32,060 IOPS • 512B Read = 6,695 IOPS Write = 3,150 IOPS Temperature While Testing: 87.8 °F
Cons: Despite the specs showing that the IOPS are read 84,000 and write at 52,000, I never saw numbers close to that and to add to that mine were the opposite. After multiple tests, the writes were faster than the reads when it came to IOPS. I have never had an SSD test so strangely when it came to the rated specs vs. my benchmarks.
Overall Review: Overall this is a great SSD with very high endurance (The highest I’ve ever owned) and good read speeds with decent write speeds. Despite the writes not being as fast as I’d like, considering the price they are still good as there are worse options in this price range. Given the durability and the low price of this SSD, it makes for a perfect upgrade for a system that needs a small performance boost without spending too much money. *All tests were conducted three times to ensure accuracy and repeatability of results.
