Pros: Overall this is a this is a great laptop. It has sleek design, wide touchpad, and I love the thin bezel on the screen. The screen size and resolution are nice. This has a matte finish screen rather than glass, which greatly minimizes reflections. I’m running at 1920x1080, scaled 125%. The Ryzen processor runs great with the 4 cores/8 logical, I love the performance compared to an older i7 2.5Ghz laptop i’ve had. This has a 1Tb Samsung HDD PCIE, 16 GB DDR4 Memory. Memory Speed is running at 2400Mghz (while plugged in and high performance power setting) SSD Sequential Read Time 1125MB/s, write: 1071MB/s Battery is good, on general usage it lasted quite a while roughly 5/6 hours on medium power settings with constant usage. If playing a game or something a little more intense it will certainly drain a little faster, however that is normal on all systems. The Touchpad is nice, it is a larger touchpad and for the most part I don’t really notice issues with palm rest. (which has been an issue on older systems in the past.) This touchpad does NOT have the ASUS 5-Key touchpad… that would be a nice add to this laptop, though I can’t say how well it would work. The touchpad does support multi-finger actions which have been pleasant and responsive. I like the keyboard. The back-light on the keys is adjustable with three settings (basically a low, Med, High). The low setting in certain lighting can make the keys a little hard to see. Overall Keys are responsive, but do have a just a little bit of travel in pressing them. You do have to be mindful of where the power button is if you are accustomed to your delete key being in the very top right. Takes a little getting used to, but after a bit it hasn’t been a problem. I actually like the fact that the power button is not on the side of the chassis as in some other devices, less likely to power on/off when transporting. The ports included are a decent mix given the size of the laptop, a full HDMI, 2 USB, USB C, Micro SD card port. This also has Bluetooth. This sound is ok… not breaking any records. I generally use headphones most of the time, so it is not a big deal to me. Those that are picky about sound quality will probably want to use external speakers when possible. (typical for most laptops in my experience) The Power Cord is small with an adapter that runs parallel with the two prongs that plug into the wall. This does not require the ground port. The adapter doesn’t take up multiple ports if you plug it in the bottom plug in the wall, however it may take cover additional port on a power strip depending on the direction of the ports.
Overall Review: Overall, I don’t really have any complaints and have really enjoyed this laptop.
Pros: - Surprisingly light. - Very powerful with the latest generation AMD Ryzen 7 processor. - Integrated graphics are not to bad, uses integrated Radeon RX Vega 10. - No noticeable fan noise unless gaming or really pushing it. - Battery life is great for general use. - 3D IR camera used for windows hello authentication works fast. - Integrated speakers sound good, but a little too quiet - SSD is pretty fast (crystal benchmark topped out at 3560MB/s read, 2050MB/s write seq. and 615/308 MB/s random) (My laptop had the Samsung MZVLB1T0HALR SSD) - Full size HDMI port as well as one of each usb 2/3/C ports. - Not a lot of bloatware, just McAfee and one Asus application.
Cons: - The keyboard backlight isn't as good as I have used in other laptop brands. - RAM and CPU is soldered to the mainboard, it cannot be replaced or upgraded. - No touchscreen - No number pad (laptop is small, but this version does not have the number pad on the touchpad) - Resolution is 1920 x 1080, I did change the screen DPI from the default 150% to 125% to get more room to work with. - No keyboard key for turning WiFi on and off, have to use windows option. - Integrated speakers sound good, but a little too quiet. - Noticed some coil whine while performing SSD benchmark.
Overall Review: Overall, this laptop is great. The hardware is aesthetically pleasing and was paired with one of AMD's newest processors. As a developer and systems administrator, this laptop delivers plenty of speed and plenty of RAM to run all my tools and programs. It also handles games OK for a laptop. If you are struggling to get the performance you need for a particular game or application, plug in the power adapter. In my benchmarking tests, I tested battery with 'Better Battery' selected, another with 'Best Performance' selected and another with the power adapter plugged in. Both battery performance options did fairly poor with gaming test results (equated it to a 'Tree Trunk' if you know the benchmark tool) and upgraded its rating to a Surfboard once it was plugged in. Overall, it is great in terms of performance but I think this laptop may be slightly overpriced at the moment.
Pros: Ultra thin and light, good looking laptop Screen looks great, no reflections 1 TB NVMe and 16gb ram is great for the price point. Not a bad graphics card, can run most games decently Good low power 4 core CPU One handed open, screen stays still, very low flex Good sound
Cons: Vega graphics shares memory with onboard ram (2gb dedicated to graphics) Memory isn't up-gradable (soldered in) No Thunderbolt connection, uses traditional DC in for power. (small ac adapter) Not the best backlit keyboard (only white)
Overall Review: I just got this laptop from on black friday. I've only spent today on it but since there's no reviews I figured I would be the first. Charged it up and spent today doing the initial installing, uninstalling, and updating software and surfing the web. I wasn't gaming or anything but I can tell it's got decent battery life (got down to 50% after 5 hours). I would guess I could get 9 or 10 hours which is more than I need in a day before charging. It looks great, I like the metal look even though its actually plastic, we'll see how the finish holds up over time. I haven't tried gaming or anything but the Vega 10 is supposed to be able to run most games, at least decently. I couldn't find a laptop with 1TB NVMe and 16GB ram at this price point and I wanted a light portable laptop that doesn't sacrifice on space or power and I think this is it.
Pros: * Just shy of 3 lbs; great build-quality; brushed aluminum, cool touch, ergolift & Asus aesthetic * Zen+ APU (R7-3700u) - Solid 15w TDP Quad-Core w/ Vega 10 (Vega > UHD 620) (2GB of RAM). * 16 GB of Dual-Channel DDR4 RAM; 2GB is dedicated to Vega 10; plenty of memory to spare! * 1TB PCIE SSD offers plenty of space for native music, movies, multimedia or a dual-boot * 5-8 hours of Battery Life; 10 possible w/ minimal brightness and/or Wifi Connectivity. * Screen is decent; FHD 1080p IPS with good viewing angles, could be a little brighter! * Keyboard - adapted within about 2-3 hours; solid typing experience. * White Backlit Keyboard - illuminates not just the keys, but the letters themselves! * Audio is surprisingly clear and vivid; gets much louder than what I was expecting! * Vega 8/10: Comfortable gaming experience on older titles; low/med @ 720p otherwise. * Ports & Connectivity; 3.1 Micro SD, USB C, & HDMI; solid for less tech-oriented folks.
Cons: * Touchpad is slightly sensitive to wrists; occasionally deletes text; mouse suggested. * "Backspace" is adjacent to the power button; some users struggle with this. I haven't hit the power button yet -- it doesn't seem to be much of an issue for me. * Audio is down-firing (speakers are on the bottom of the machine). * The main drive is encrypted with BitLocker; bit of a hassle for Linux enthusiasts. * Linux Hardware Support requires a recent or rolling distro/kernel; Arch, Manjaro, 19.10 Ubuntu or Elementary Hera (5.4.1). Requires disabling "SecureBoot" * Bit-Locker requires a lengthy 50-60 character password upon Boot-loader changes such as to disable SecureBoot and in addition after the distro is installed and next boot to Windows. * No USB C (Charging) or Thunderbolt Port; more of an ultra-premium feature in my opinion * No coil whine, but the fan does become audible under heavier loads; idle temp 40-50c.
Overall Review: I'm also a Black Friday reviewer. I was looking for a slightly more powerful student laptop with mild gaming capability without an extra dGPU, weight or excess heat. I wanted something with a big drive and space for Linux (Ubuntu 19.10 / Elementary OS) and multimedia and good battery life. Every device has its drawbacks and compromises, but I think Asus did a great job with the UM433DA. I would have liked to have seen a slightly brighter screen, but I can still whole-heartedly recommend it because it's a great range of hardware with above-average features, build quality and a "core" computing experience.
Pros: Very light. Decent specs. Not too much bloatware that can't be uninstalled, other than stuff that Microsoft wouldn't let you uninstall. Keyboard is much better than the last generation of Zenbooks (I had one. Keyboard was horrible).
Cons: Battery life is only good if you use it for web browsing and light graphics tasks. Not good when playing games. I tested to see specifically for this purpose. It lasted barely an hour before warning came on about battery low. Touchpad supposed to have numpad, it doesn't. That was not clear in the product description. Touchpad also supposed to have palm recognition. If it does, it's not good at it. Still better off turning off the touchpad and using a mouse.
Overall Review: Haven't had it long enough to tell if there are other pros or cons. Overall good for the price, and I'm happy with the purchase.
Pros: -Lightweight -Stylish appearance and good build quality (as good as you can get without going full metal - minimal flex on screen and no flex on body) -Good temperatures (i.e. no overheating, fan not too noisy when it ramps up) -Fantastic performance for the cost (8 cores, 16GB DDR3 ram, big and fast SSD)
Cons: -No option for higher quality screen, although this is not necessarily a con as a nicer screen would increase cost! 1080p screen is nice and very bright.
Overall Review: I am a graduate student in the quantitative social sciences. My workflow includes heavy internet traffic, data analysis on medium-sized dataset (think 30-200 variables, 3k-50k rows), GIS (QGIS, ArcMap, etc.), TeX platforms, and light software development. I am incredibly satisfied with the product. I was debating between the 14 inch and the 13 inch - glad I went with the 14 inch as you get the full sized keyboard (there were some complaints that the 13 inch keyboard was squeezed or too compact). Light gaming (DOTA, LOL) is possible but only on lowest settings, so it keeps you focused on work! All in all, I think it is hard to beat the quality and performance at this price for an ultrabook.
Pros: - True 1 TB SSD, unlike some other products that deceiving have a 1 TB hybrid drive with only 128 GB of actual SSD but call it an SSD in the title - The PCIe SSD is super fast to read and write from - Very lightweight and thin, easy for people who travel a lot - The AMD Ryzen 7 is quite fast. Unlike many AMDs in the past, this one is competitive with some of the newer Intels
Cons: None so far!
Overall Review: Would definitely recommend / buy again 100%

Pros: Wifi is very fast in 5GHz mode. Was able to max out my internet connection of 350Mbps. Form factor is very good. Tiny screen bezel. Keyboard is quite good, responsive keys, good feedback feel to them, good movement. Light, but very sturdy feeling construction. NVme drive is really fast and responsive. Good amount of memory installed (Needed since the GPU uses 2GB of it.) Battery life seems quite good so far. I would estimate 8 - 10 hours depending what you're doing (not gaming of course.)
Cons: Light bleed on sides of screen from backlight. Power button in a bad spot (sits where DEL or backspace usually would be.) No USB C charging, bad move. Proprietary Asus charger needed. Fan is fairly loud when playing games but not unbearable. Backlight on the keyboard is ok, not great with only one brightness and color setting (white.) Turning it on when not in a dark room makes it very difficult to read the letters on the keys since they are silver and the light is white.
Overall Review: I was pleasantly surprised how well this 15W variant of the 3700U performed overall, I was concerned that it would not be any faster than the 3500U in my other laptop (Dell Inspiron 15 5000) due to the size of the laptop and the cooling limitations but it outperformed it by a decent margin in most areas and the two cost roughly the same and the 3500U one is much heavier and bulkier (15.6" laptop.) and the 3500U had a smaller SSD (Generic Hynix 500GB) and half the memory. I would definitely recommend this laptop if you're looking for something lightweight and compact and want to occasionally play some games with the settings lowered a bit, but I'd buy it on sale if possible. I ran a few tests to compare this laptop with my Dell one with the 3500U. I was quite pleased with the results.
