Will this work in a cooler master 690 ii case?

If you have an unused 3.5" drive space, it will mount a 2.5" drive. It does exactly what it says - allows you to mount 2.5" drive in a 3.5" slot. If your open slot is external, you'll have to figure out a way to cover it.

I need to mount a 2.5" SSD in a Dell desktop inspiron. The existing hard disk is bolted directly to a side frame and I am trying to figure out what size adapter I need. The 5.25" was way to large. the spacing on the screw holes in th hard drive are about 1 7/8" x 3 7/8". disk drive size is 4" wide.. Any idea what size adapter I need?

3.5" is the standard size for rotary disks.  There should be screw holes *somewhere* in the case that fit a 3.5" drive.

This adapter should allow you to mount the SSD in any computer case where an existing rotary disk was installed.

As you can see from the picture, there are more than enough holes to be able to mount it in multiple screwhole configurations.  Most of the time, the screw holes for hard drives are more like "slots" so you have even more leeway in mounting options.

Of course, one could also simply drill the holes needed using a Dremel or regular drill... you don't need to have threads on the case.

Question 3

While I understand that this bracket/mounting kit can hold two SSDs, could you clarify whether you are able to easily connect the power and SATA cables to both the SSDs without the cabling from one SSD blocking/interfering with the other? Apparently most issues with brackets pertain to poor design wherein it is hard to connect the cables to both SSDs because they are so close to each other. Could you confirm whether you encountered any such problem? Thanks.

Just install one of the drives upsidedown so that the connecters are on opposite sides of the bracket.

How can this be used in a Dell OptiPlex 780 Small Form Factor which only has one drive bay and ONLY ONE power and data cable?

This dual dock will be where you should start. As for the other details, I can't get you a 100% sure answer without actually seeing the system. But, you could get a splitter cable for the SATA power cable. As for the data cable, they're really cheap and small, so as long as your motherboard has at least two SATA ports you should be fine.

I have an Antec case with multiple drive slots.  Each has a bottom-mount HDD slide-in assembly. Does the ICY Dock support bottom-mount screws?

I have several of these adapters and can verify they have screw holes in the same locations as a standard 3.5" HDD (also see pictures here).

can it be use in a macbook pro?

No this can't be used on a macbook pro.  The height on this is taller than the whole macbook itself.

Question 7

So you can get two SSD drives in one bracket, cool.  How does this affect heat?  seems like having two drives this close together would make both of them hotter.  Has this been a problem for anyone?

I have used this arrangement several times and have one in my computer now. Works great. There is some air circulation space.

Will this be suitable for an SSD to be mounted into a hard drive bay specifically in a Dell Vostro 260 Desktop? This desktop has rails that it needs to be attached to and then slid the rails slide into a slot, and is then fastened in place with a screw on the top.

Yes, the bracket is the size of standard 3.5" hard drive.  Attatch the rails directly to this bracket just as you would for a hard drive.

Will it position the power and data connectors in the exact same location as a 3.5 inch drive (so it can be mounted in a caddy and slid directly into a hot-swap slot, such as a rack-mount server) ?

No.  Icy Dock centers drive in middle of 3.5 tray and will not line up with connector in server.

Question 10

Will this work with my bay that I simply slide a HDD into and it snap/locks in place without using screws?

Does not work.  It lifts up the Ssd to high and won't align properly..
