Question 1

My system is a HP Z4 G4 with a Xeon W-2125 processor, and resizable bar can be turned on in the BIOS.  Is this CPU compatible with the card?  Intel's compatible CPU list doesn't include any Xeon processors.  In case it matters, the GPU will be used primarily for machine learning rather than for video games.  Thanks in advance for any help!

A750 *should* be compatible with W-2125, however I haven’t tested it. One big caveat is that Skylake processors have PCIe 3.0, so the bandwidth to the card is not going to be as fast as it could be with a more modern CPU with PCIe 4.0.

Yes, Ray tracing is supported with the A750. That being said, the performance hit will be objective depending on the game you play and your expectations for frames per second.

How does this VGA card perform with 1080p gaming?

This question is subjective. It ultimately depends on your expectations and FPS requirements. The card has played almost all the games I own and I get a frame rate that I am fine with. Most games are above 60FPS with a lot of them hitting 80-90FPS. A couple games have dipped below 60FPS during intense moments but remained agile. I mostly play at 1440p so playing at 1080p might offer better FPS then what I'm getting. Again, this is very subjective and will also vary on the game, graphic settings, and other hardware specifications (ReBAR support, for example).

Yes, but regardless of the CPU manufacturer, ensure your system supports Resizable BAR. Intel lists it as required.

what is resizable bar?  Is this a video/bios feature?

It's a PCI-E feature, allows more than blocks of 256mb of memory to be addressed over the PCI-E link, it's enabled in your motherboard bios (intel officially states 10th gen / Ryzen 5000 and newer but as long as your bios allows it to be set I've had it working on Ryzen 1000 cpu's without issue, but that's down to the motherboard manufacturer

Will this work with Oculus/SteamVR?

I tested SteamVR with this card using my first gen. HTC Vive headset. While it booted fine, there were intermittent graphical glitches (most notably a horizontal jittering black bar similar to what old TVs would sometimes get) which made it unplayable. Oculus headsets may work better with the card, but I cannot say for certain and would not recommend risking it if that is your main reason for the purchase.
