Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.66 GHz LGA 775 95W HH80562PH0678MK Processor

Pros: This CPU is very powerful. It installed Vista Ultimate in like 10 minutes! It overclocks to 3.5~3.6 pretty easily and runs pretty cool even at that temp (average of about 40C between the cores idle). 72C is the highest I can push it using stress testing (the Vendetta 2 heatsink helps that a lot). On stock settings it was in the 30s idle. I also like the 10x multi so i can keep the FSB in the mid 300s and get to the 3.5 or 3.6 as opposed to having to run 400x9 on a q6600 to get 3.6. Any game, app, or task I have thrown at it so far has been eaten up by this beast and I'm happy I bought it.

Cons: I don't really see any. You can abuse this thing with voltage a whole lot more than you can a 45nm chip. Oh and if anyone wants to know about the packaging... I found it sufficient. There is a foam padding inside the little plastic case and the CPU itself has an additional hard plastic snap-on that covers the bottom of it, so it's not really of danger of damage aside from some ridiculous mishandling.

Pros: This thing is fast, totally blows the 6000+ I had before away, I was able to get it to 3.6ghz but it got a little warm with the stock HSF, I'm running 3.33ghz 24/7 right now, until i get some liquid or high end air on it, then it'll probably make it to 3.5 or 3.6 24/7

Overall Review: went from 13000 3dmarks in '06 with my M2R32-MVP, 6000+, 4gb of G.Skill DDR2 800, and Crossfired 2900xt's to pretty close to 19000 3dmarks with this chip, P5E, 4gb Mushkin DDR2 1066, and the same 2900xt's, very impressive imho

Pros: For the price you cant complain. It runs like a $1,000 processor. Overclocks easily. No questions asked. I love newegg.

Cons: none really, except OEM doesnt come with "Intel Quad Core Inside" sticker, nor a manual (not that it's needed). I love stickers and manuals :(.

Overall Review: Running on Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R, 500gb WD Caviar HDD, 4gb OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600, and 9600 GT A.D.E.XXX. Runs great, scored 5.9's all the way accross in vista ultimate 64, except for HDD (5.8) - which will be fixed once I raid this mug.

Pros: Fits in my IP35 Pro (I was afraid it might not). Runs really fast. Multitasking is a breeze. Gaming is a dream. Upgraded from an AMD 3700 and Whew! what a difference. Runs at a very nice 19 C idle, 23 C load, with Zalman 9700. Hot days (like recently!) make it climb to around 30 on load.

Cons: None that I know of.

Overall Review: Good price right now for a beastly proc.

Pros: running vista ultimate i have yet use this chip to its full potential. and it runs cool too, i dont think ive had it over 45*c and the fact that this thing doesnt have a factory heatsink/fan is a plus, the newer 775 heatsinks ive dealt with are all cheaply made

Cons: it is a bit pricey

Overall Review: not a bad CPU for the money

Overall Review: Remember that OEM parts do not come with a manual, retail box, etc. You usually only get a cheap plastic case.

Pros: Saved a huge amount of money by buying this proc and overclocking it. Running at 3.5 GHz stable, with performance of a $1500 processor...what's not to love? I am liquid cooling it, but even with that, it's still a third of what I would have spent.

Cons: Not a one.

Overall Review: Overclocked, this processor is insanely fast... I have gotten it to boot at 4 GHz, but way too close to the margin for safety voltagewise.
