Absolutely destroys anything I send at it 10/17/2019 1:15:09 PM

Pros: -Stupid, stupid fast.
-Can run multiple multi-core instances of R for work in the background while I can surf, game, whatever waiting for things to run.

Cons: -Expensive as hell, if it weren't being used for business I would not have bought it just because of cost.

Overall Review: If you need really high single core performance and the ability to parallelize batches of code? This is your chip. But it's probably overkill if you don't.

Works Great 7/10/2019 11:00:18 AM

Pros: Fast processor, but runs very hot, Had to buy 3-fan cooler from cougar to keep it cool. Corsair 2-fan cooler would not work, not enough CFM. Now it runs very cool 20-30 degrees Celsius no load and 30-40 under a 20%+ load not to exceed 60c.

Cons: did not need the RGB lights with cooler, looks like a circus.

Overall Review: Great CPU, Highly recommend it for gaming, But there's a lot more add on's That will make it work even better. $$$$ money pit. Now I need a monitor and upgrade my graphics card. LOL $$$$$...

Not as impressive as advertized 12/10/2018 4:53:25 PM

Pros: - Many cores and threads
- Good workhorse processor
- Good jack of all trades CPU. Can handle gaming and workloads without issues
- Good for multi-threading/multi-tasking

Cons: - Had heating issues, even when watercooled.
- Runs hot even when idle
- Not easy to overclock even up to 4GHz
- Was often a bottleneck in most games and benchmark tools

Overall Review: - The last straw for me was when the CPU just died while the PC was on. No sign of any issues, other than the PC just shutting down. Was also disappointed with Intel's support. I did not feel that they were interested in helping me resolve the issue, but rather seemed more interested in laying blame.

I think it is try to try Ryzen 2700x

Coming from a person who got extremely unlucky with this CPU, I love it 8/31/2018 11:08:29 AM

Pros: It is simply amazing. What else is there to say? I made an enthusiast grade server/gaming rig and it handles everything amazingly.

Cons: n/a (not including luck, which I'll get into)

Overall Review: I lost the silicon lottery ticket by a huge amount. When Trying to OC, this cpu can barely hit 4.0 GHz at 1.315 V (super super super unlucky). Higher than 4 GHz is more voltage than I'm willing to pump. Though, I can't deny I'm a little upset with my luck, I can't help but acknowledge that this CPU made my dreams come true TT_TT. just buy it

Great CPU, Easy Install 2/18/2018 8:44:48 AM

Pros: * Got it when Newegg had priced it down to around $300 - absolutely great bang for the buck. This is the sweet spot for the i7 6000 series - you get the 40 lanes and a solid 3.6GHz but aren't paying a ridiculous premium.

Cons: * None

Overall Review: Highly recommended. I upgraded from an AMD 8350 8-core and this has been a nice upgrade for a very reasonable price.

Very fast 2/1/2018 11:10:56 AM

Pros: Noticeable improvement over my 5820k somehow. Running at 4ghz undervolted slightly at 1.248v compared to my 5820k which maxed at 4.2ghz 1.32v.
40 PCIE LANES CMON!!!

Cons: Not the fastest available, 8700k is not a lot more expensive.

i7 6800k 12/16/2017 9:37:21 PM

Pros: I was a little worried about getting this cpu seeing it was the weakest of the bunch but iv been running it for 8 months now and have no complaints. It's fast and powerful and deff a great chip. I have it over clocked @ 4.2 on a corsair 115i and ideal temps hover around 36c and never goes above mid 40's under load. highest iv seen it go was 65 during stress test.

Cons: voltage is a bit high at 1.29 for 4.2 but from what if read on these chips it's common.

Overall Review: would deff recommend this chip if it's what you have you're eye on bit with coffee lake out now it's problem a better choice

Died! 12/10/2017 11:04:57 AM

Pros: Seemed good while it was working.

Cons: Dead under 2 months of use and that's only on weekends!

I have the Asus X99-M WS - Everything seemed fine until 12/3/2017...I went to power up the system and immediately everything seems to be on and running fine, except that I noticed on the MoBo a (CODE 00).

- I researched and did every possible step necessary, even rebuilding the system and nothing changed. The MoBo is just stuck on (CODE 00) no matter what I do.The issue I'm having is a (CODE 00) "Not in Use" > according to Manual.

Luckily my cousin has the same i7-6850K setup, so I had to travel a good distance away to his place, we swapped CPU and right away the same results came up on his Mobo (CODE 00)!!...I then put his i7-6850K back on and his Rig is up a running with no issues.

Within 2 month of use and only on weekends, the CPU is dead??...since 2003 building systems this is a first.

I'm RMAing this and hope to get a long term working product that won't die on me again!

Overall Review: So far disappointed! and no gaming at the moment!
