That is a question for the motherboard vendor to determine if it supports 8GB parts.  If it does it probably will be fine.

Will this work for a dell optiplex 980? I used CPUID and it seems like it will.

Just check the number of pins in the Motherboard, and recommended settings for the MB.

E6520 is a laptop and the memmory above is for a desktop.  your gong to want to look at a different chip.  204 pin count.

Will this RAM work in a Mid 2010 MAC Pro tower? It is a quad core 2.8 GHz Intel Xeon processor with 4 RAM slots. I am not running a server or anything that might need error correcting.

one of the easiest ways I've found to determine what type of memory you need to get is to go to crucial's website and use their tool for memory. its pretty quick and lets you know what types, sizes, speeds of ram will work for your system. then you can come back here to newegg and find the best module you want for a really good price.

The 1333 is the designation of the bus line clock speed. You will have to check you Dell specs to see if it is able to run at that speed. Hope this helps.

Yes, the specs for that motherboard indicate 240 pin DDR3 1333 is compatible. That should work fine with it. It will only recognize two of these stick thought since the max memory supported is 16GB
