My laptop will die if I unplug the power, the battery is not charged. Is there anything I should try or the battery is bad at all?

Check to make sure your cords are all plugged in tightly first. Then verify that the computer is or is not charging but the icons on the body or under the display. Check to make sure that the battery is seated properly as well and locked in place, sometimes they wiggle loose.  If you've done all that, it sounds like the battery is no more and you go buy a new battery. If the battery is still good but not charging, you need to get the power adapter checked to see if it is working. If that also works, then you need to contact Lenovo as your motherboard might be compromised thru the power inlet.
