Pros: -Small size means its quite mobile -Integrated carrying handle is quite useful -Long battery life is nice -Solid feeling construction, good and sturdy. Feels like it can take a knock or two. -Supposedly slated to receive Play Store support (for Android apps) in an upcoming update (I believe you can get it now by subscribing to the developer channel)
Cons: -Dislike the rotating camera (would rather it either not have one or it was fixed in place). Just seems like a point-of-failure where its going to eventually break. -Screen is definitely one of the cost saving parts. I'm fine with it and it works fine but it isn't the best. I'm not talking about the resolution (which is more than useable for Chrome OS) but the brightness and contrast.
Overall Review: Bought one for a relative to replace his aging XP-running (ughh) laptop. Has ended up replacing that and his iPad too. This is the second one I've bought, this one is for me. I liked it that much.
Pros: Cheap and fast. It's amazing. Laptop start in less than 30 seconds. I bought this computer for my 8 years daugthter and she will love this. Netflix, Plex, YouTube and she can access to her school webpage, what else she need for the moment? Nada.
Cons: Chrome only but well, for 200$, you cannot ask for the moon.
Pros: Snappy operation. Quick cold boot. Long battery life. 100GB of Google Drive (for 2 years). USB3x2. Solid build quality. Decent camera. Carrying strap. Responsive keypad. 4GB memory really makes a difference in performance! Can run Android - though I haven't used it yet.
Cons: 1366x768 screen is adequate, yet VERY narrow view - particularly vertical - contrast is low for my taste. Camera seems cheap in comparison to overall build quality. Proprietary power connector (typical). A bit heavy at almost 3 lbs.
Overall Review: I've never owned a Chromebook. Heard lots of good recently, so wanted to take Chrome for a drive and see what it's all about. This laptop went on sale and I jumped. A granddaughter got one last xmas and didn't like it (2GB memory wasn't enough). I was suspicious about how fast a 16GB eMMC drive would run and whether it was enough disk space - so far, so good. I bought a 64GB USB3 key but probably won't need it. As for Chrome, I had to do quite a bit of reading to learn how to navigate in a browser-only world - so there's a learning curve for an old Windows guy like me. So far, I'm enjoying the Chrome experience and this Chromebook. I'd definitely recommend this laptop for casual use - NOT for business or serious school, graphics, gaming, or video work. I use it for writing a blog, reading the news, and watching my favorite podcasts - perfect fit for my purposes.
Pros: 4 GB of RAM compared to similar models with only 2 GB. Thin and light. Boots quickly. Battery lasts for 10+ hours. A rubber carry handle is built into the back of it if you're into that sort of thing. Trackpad is responsive. Price when its on sale.
Cons: The swivel camera on the top of the screen is useless to me. Would absolutely prefer a fixed camera.
Overall Review: I've used several Chromebooks at the bottom of the 11.6" screen "budget" category and this is definitely one of the nicest. I previously used the white Acer CB1 with the N2840 celeron and it was also very good just with half the RAM. For about the same cost (when on sale) this is a great buy if you like the 11.6" chromebooks. From what I've seen, the Intel processors are more responsive than ARM based ones and generally are priced similarly. I also considered the newer Samsung Chromebook 3, but it was about $50 more expensive than I purchased this for.
Pros: Light, durable, and portable.
Cons: I could do without the web cam but no other concerns
Overall Review: Definitely recommend for students.
Pros: Quick Start Fast performance No virus threats Multi user management is simple Easy to expan d memory with SD card
Cons: Lags with heavy websites Average build quality Rotating camera module not robust enough
Overall Review: Overall this is a very good laptop and gives enough bang for buck. I bought it mainly for streaming media ( YouTube Netflix) and it is very good at that. But I cannot replace my MacBook yet as this doesnot support Adobe Photoshop applications. The battery life is good, lasts for around 5-6 hours of netflix or almost 8 hours of browsing. The screen is anti glare and colors are average at the best.(no match for MacBook or other LeD screens) 1 more thing to be noted is that it lags a bit while loading and scrolling media heavy pages.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: About 6 months down the road and it won't even power on.
Overall Review: Bait and switch trashtop.
Pros: Fast! with 4 GB of ram this chromebook loads everything quickly. Its very light weight and even has a built in carrying handle which comes in handy. Lenovo made a very sturdy and durable chromebook with speed to match. The latest Intel processor is a large improvement from the previous generation as well.
Cons: at only 11.6" its a very small laptop and the display is not the greatest, but for the price its to be expected.
