Pros: If you are a +R media enthusiast like me this is the burner for you! This beats my LiteOn 20A4P scans when it comes to +R media. I burn between 700-1000 vids a month and I usually burn at 8X or 12X. This is the first burner that I have owned that I don't have any problem with burning at 16X and not being concerned about playability issues for my customers.
Cons: A definite con about this burner is that it doesn't burn -R media too well. I have burned several -R disks with this burner and they play fine but the problem is they don't scan well using CD-DVD SPEED. I'm sure this issue will be addressed and fixed in upcoming firmware upgrades.
Overall Review: This is a much better burner than the GSA-H55N 20X burner. I have that one as well and GH22NP20 is in a whole new class. I don't really care about the problem with -R media because I use +R media 99% of the time anyway. If I need to burn a -R disc I just use my LiteOn. Here are some results of my burns which are all DVD+R 16X burns scanned at 4X using Liteon 20A4P: (1) Ritek R05, PIE 12, PIF 2, Jitter Avg. 9.43% (2) Verbatim MCC 004 PAPA PIE 10, PIF 2, Jitter Avg. 8.36% (3) Cheap Nexxtech AML 003 PIE 37, PIF 2, Jitter Avg. 9.9% Again, this is the best 22X +R burner on the market!
