Pros: Very quiet, fast & great looking. I was expecting great performance, but was surprised at how nice this thing looks, & especially how quiet it is. Can hardly hear it spinning with your ear above it. Solid case & the drawer moves without rattling as with my Pioneer. A light touch closes the drawer too.

Cons: Could have a longet USB cable. Haven't tried a regular cable without the ferrites. Power switch would be nice.

Cons: I had to return this drive and get a Lite-On. It had problems burning on Verbatim and Fuji media. It detected one Verbatim media as 9GB while it was a 4.5GB 4x media. I tried burning and of course failed. Good thing I had my old Lite-On as a backup . The reason for buying this unit was to get faster burning speeds (16x) but this unit failed miserably.

Pros: Its quiet, easy installation; I havent burned DVDs on it yet, but I have burned CD's and my burn time has been slashed by half and erasing cd-rws was very very quick compared to what I was used to for years. I use jet audio for all my media need and this unit worked very well with it.

Cons: Well the software bundle was confusing to me, wasnt very user friendly and had limited features....of course If I upgrade online to the full version..blah blah blah, these companies kill me with free software thats basically a tease for you to go buy the full overpriced version from there website as if they are unaware of all the high quality FREEWARE available these days! They really need to give that a rest.

Overall Review: This unit came with a 20 dollar mail in rebate, which really makes a good deal great...fast shipping, well packed..I love newegg!

Pros: For about $xx after mail in rebate, I am for sure happy. Nice looking unit, and QUIET. I bought this for transfering video from my camcorder to DVD and it does fine for that. I'm extremely happy with the unit!

Cons: for $50, what is there not to like?

Overall Review: To transfer video, I can't go direct from cam or vcr to DVD drive because both devices connect via USB. It seems that using two USB devices is too much data for USB controller in general. Not really the fault of the drive itself. I have to record to hard disk, then burn DVDs.

Pros: so far so good, took me awhile to figure out the software and what was what, this is my first time and just a few trial and error mistakes, burns a dvd in about 6:15 give or take 10 seconds.

Cons: if you got USB 1.1 might as well for get about trying to do it, it will work but takes a good hour to burn a disk, but then again it could be something I am doing wrong, at work my laptop has USB 2.0 and works like a champ on it.

Overall Review: packaging was great, I am in Iraq and it survived the trip here plenty of packaging to on all the uploads and downloads this box must have made very good.

Pros: Quiet at 4x burn speeds and Nero OEM is quite nice...

Cons: As another reviewer stated, this external really could use a power switch. Also Nero OEM detected my DVD drive speed to be at 4x max initially.

Overall Review: Burning DVDs is like a charm with this device! If you buy this, you may need Nero to find out what the max burn speed for DVDs are.

Pros: So far, the product is as expected. Three DVDs have made it through burning and verifications. Using Nero 6 and Sony DVD-R disks.

Cons: Boy is the body work glossy, gotta wipe it down everytime I go on any kind of trip with it.
