Question 1

Is this Really red or is it orange? the pic looks a bit orange but it's hard to tell.

I bought 2 of these and both of them are definitely red, but ive had them for over a year now and dont use them very much, but they are already noticeably dimmer then when i bought them. I recommend finding other lights. But these are cheap so you can try them out.

Question 2

How does it mount in the case? sticky tape, velcro ,etc?

Each end of the bar has a space where you can attach a sticky pad to it (one side of the pad is sticky, the other is velcro). There are two sticky pads per end of the bar, one sticks to the bar itself and the other sticks to the case, then those two pads velcro together.

However, make sure you properly clean and dry the surfaces you're going to put the sticky sides on first because they sometimes they lose their stickiness if the conditions aren't optimal.

Also, a side note if you're interested, the sound module is activated by higher pitched tones more than low tones, so if you intend on having them flash to bassy dance songs it won't go to the beat. Bummer.

does it have its own hardware that makes the light activate by sound?

Honestly I see nothing with the hardware provided that could make it sound activated. There is a pin on the back of the PCI slot incert(doesn't actually take up the slot on the board) but I'm not sure what it does.

Question 4

is it possible to have them on all the time instead of just when there's noise?

Yes you can, there's a nob you install in the back of your case. With that you can adjust it all the way up which will be on or lower it and the light will go off but the noise will trigger it. adjust it to how loud or how quiet the sound will trigger it on.
The only thing you might not see here is that the mic, which catches the sound, is a little big and has a blue led. It is always on so make sure you hide it.

Will this fit in my NZXT Phantom?
