Purity marks an exciting new direction for electrostatic loudspeaker design. Internally powered with a 200-watt high-resolution switching amplifier, Purity allows an unprecedented level of system connection flexibility. Equipped with a standard RCA line-level input, Purity is able to connect directly to devices such as digital music players, flat screen televisions or even computers. Additional speaker level inputs give Purity the flexibility to work with receivers or other equipment that might not have a line-level pre-amp out option.
Purity incorporates proprietary AirFrame technology and MartinLogan's advanced MicroPerf Generation 2 diaphragm electrostatic transducer to cover the audible acoustic range with unprecedented high-frequency accuracy and low-level sonic detail. ClearSpar spacers suspend the Generation 2 diaphragm within the electrostatic transducer, enhancing Purity's transparent look and increasing both efficiency and dynamics. Perfectly integrated MartinLogan engineered dual high-resolution 6.5-inch aluminum cone woofers supply an authoritative bass performance that will give most stand-alone subwoofers a run for their money.
A state-of-the-art audio transformer and custom crossover engineering ensure a transparent link between the electrostatic panel and woofer. Purity's crossover employs a proprietary Vojtko topology for vanishingly low distortion and seamless driver integration. This precision-tuned network preserves miniscule sonic nuances while handling the full dynamics of any source with unparalleled purity, precision, clarity, and openness.
Ultimate Performance with a RCA ConnectionTo achieve ultimate performance with the Purity, use of the RCA line level connection is recommended. With this input Purity is able to connect directly to devices with variable level control such as digital music players, flat screen televisions, computers, and receivers with pre-amp outputs. Additional speaker level inputs also allow Purity to connect using traditional speaker cable in a more traditional receiver equipped 2-channel or home theater system.
GLS Generation 2 Electrostatic PanelBuilt on the success of the original Curvilinear Line Source panels, CLS Generation 2 with advanced diaphragm and stator technologies can significantly enhance speaker efficiency and dynamics. The new thin-film plasma-deposition process applies an improved conductive coating to the ultra-low-mass PET (polyethylene terathylate) diaphragm for superior adhesion and abrasion resistance, as well as a better impedance characteristic. MicroPerf stators expose more of the diaphragm surface, dramatically expanding effective radiating area without increasing panel size, while ClearSpar spacers help maintain their stiffness without impairing the signature transparent look of MartinLogan electrostats. By eliminating cone flexure Purity's dual 6.5-inch aluminum diaphragm woofers achieve the very low distortion necessary for proper blending with MartinLogan electrostatic panels.
Airframe TechnologyPurity's electrsotatic panels are secured to speaker cabinets using MartinLogan's AirFrame technology. AirFrames, manufactured from aerospace-grade billet and extruded aluminum alloy, make the panels extremely rigid without obstructing playable surface area or interfering with their dipole sound radiation. At the same time, they provide electrical and acoustical isolation, minimizing intermodulation distortion caused by vibration and resonance. Overall, AirFrames enhance imaging, low-level sonic detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
