Do I need to use the x shaped bracket on my i5 install?  It did not come with thermal grease.

yes, most likely the motherboard will have to come out to be able to mount the x shaped bolt plate to the motherboard.

The beauty of this Heat-sink and fan is that it uses steel threaded assemblies to tighten the Heat-sink down to the top of the CPU, instead of cheap plastic snap in place types that easily can break or not tighten down properly

I have been using this fan for about 2 years now it is a great fan 3000 rpm's keeps my system about 97 F.

apply a thin layer of thermal paste and you are good to go

need help I just purchased a p8b75-m/csm asus motherboard but I need the heatsink and fan. problem is there is about 10 capacitors or whatever you wanna call it near the processor. will this fan and heatsink work without sitting on or pushing the capacitors? please look at motherboard pics first before just saying yeah it will. thanks

Hi Jacob, yes the fan should work for you as well.  I also have an ASUS motherboard and there is room enough above the components.  The only thing against the fan is it is a little noisier than say the stock fan that comes with some processors.

It says compatible with lga 1150 but features show only 1155/1156. This will fit on lga 1150?

The MASSCOOL 8W2002B1M4 is a compatible replacement for the 8W5020F1M heat sink, they're both used with the Intel 1155 or 1156 socket processors.

I have a lga775 motherboard with a screw attached cooler. Would this fit?  I am running a95w tdp pentium D 945

hello. sorry to say that it won't fit . the hole spacing in the motherboard is wider for the socket 1156 and up so it will not align with the smaller 775. 
a few early 1156 boards came with holes in the board for both 775 and 1156 to save early adopters with expensive heatsinks from having to buy 
new. masscool used to make that same cooler in socket 775 and if get the one with copper core it should be ok for 95 watt cpu if no o/c. i have used this cooler in both 775 and 1156.

What is the distance between the mounting screws for the motherboard?

Every Mother Board in different type has preset standard hole positions and computer cases comply with. Bolt length should not exceed 1/4 of inch or 6mm. Typically bolts for computer are mixture standard and metric for hard drives ( M3 for example and M2.2 for SSD ) So the question is: what is the distance ?? The distance has been preset by engineering since day one and never has been changed yet !!!
