Pros: CPU, GPU, RAM, and HD size are all quite a bit more than you would usually find in this price range. Great graphics, I'm not much of a gamer but it runs WoW easily on high settings and plays 1080p video without a hiccup. Construction feels pretty solid and the textured finish is very nice, almost reminiscent of crocodile skin or something. Classy looking. Comfortable keyboard, numpad is always a good bonus. Surprisingly little bloatware. Two USB3 ports is nice and almost unheard of in this price range. Although it can get a bit warm if pushed, it's well-ventilated and the fan seems quite efficient.
Cons: Trackpad is a little finicky, especially when it comes to scrolling, and has a raised texture which some may find uncomfortable. I would recommend using a USB mouse with this computer. The keyboard flexes a bit around the F11 and zero keys, although it's not something that bothers me much. Hard drive partitioning (351/234GB) seems a bit strange and arbitrary. The 5400rpm hard drive is the only real weak link in this computer's specs and it's easy to tell. Looks like it would be easy to replace, though. Also, the pre-installed S-Bar utility is pretty useless and apparently can't be uninstalled without causing trouble, and you can't use the media keys (including DVD eject) without it open. The speakers, like almost all laptop speakers, have mediocre sound quality. The screen hinges are pretty tight and you'll need to use two hands to open it without the base of the laptop getting lifted off the table for a moment.
Overall Review: This computer is easily one of the best deals in its price range, and MSI's reputation so far has been quite good. Any drawbacks I've found so far are extremely minor or easily fixed compared to its excellent performance and comfort of use - I'd give this 4 and a half eggs if I could. Grab a 7200rpm HD with the extra hundred bucks you would have spent for a comparable laptop and you'll have a fine machine that will last you many a year.
