Pros: Sleek, lightweight, extra long charging cord. Great graphics when it actually works...
Cons: So, first off, I received this laptop without Windows 8 installed 2 months ago.. It actually had no OS at all. After a fight with 3 Acer customer service reps, I got expedited shipping of the Windows 8 OS discs. A week after receiving the computer, I can actually use it...Fine. Had OS installed by a professional, and for a few days, it worked great. Now, however, there is no sound coming from this laptop whatsoever, despite a system restore, and re- installing the sound drivers. The sound had cut out a few times before, but had always come back on. Not this time. Also, the computer now blue screens at every opportunity, and gives multiple different system memory errors. In other words, this comp is going back, and I'm getting my money back if at all possible. Also, the Chiclet style keys tend to stick and result in typo's, and the CD Drive tray is incredibly flimsy, and the exterior collects dirt and dust like crazy. So, I'm getting it fixed, because its under warranty, and then it's getting sold and I'm buying a Dell. ACER, you SUCK! I will NEVER buy an Acer again, no matter how fabulous the specs. Great graphics or otherwise.
Overall Review: Frankly, the refurbished dell studio I had worked better than this computer for less than a quarter of the price.
Pros: -It plays all of the games I want on highest settings with no problems -Sleek, cool design -Windows 8 is actually not half bad, it just takes getting used to -Fast processor, good video card, good RAM, and a pretty standard 500gb HDD
Cons: -Battery is kinda meh, but for me I don't usually go places where my laptop is needed so I always have it plugged in. -Comes with pre-installed bloatware that no one wants. Seriously, Acer, stop doing this. However, it's not bad enough to knock off an egg.
Overall Review: Make sure you update your drivers when you get this laptop!
Pros: The laptop was very fast. It started up quickly and played games with no lag issues at highest settings
Cons: The biggest con I had was that during gameplay the screen would go black forcing me to alt-tab out and then back in, sometimes it would freeze altogether and I would have to force-close. Acer tech support speaks off of cue cards and were not much help, and the upper level support people are extremely rude. I RMA'd the first one I received and Newegg discovered a defect and sent me a new one. However, the second one had the same issue and I was forced to RMA for a refund. I loved the idea of a good gaming laptop for a reasonable price, but there were too many issues between drivers not working and gameplay issues for this laptop to be recommended. I also think that windows 8 is a terrible operating system, I used it for over a month and I could not stand it. I only include this because the laptop comes with windows 8 pre-installed on it.
Pros: Exceptional speed, snappy considering the stock rig. I'm new to Windows 8 and so far doesn't seem to troublesome-
Cons: None thus far-
Pros: Great processor Great gpu Can put out really high volume bay for another hdd or ssd can actually support 16gbs of ram pretty easy on the go nice keyboard decent track pad good wifi strength had mine for almost a year and nothings gone bad all at a great price
Cons: not hd only one usb 3.0 port gloss finnish hdd is only 5400rpm
Overall Review: I have a model from last year with the gt640m and the 17-3610m and it has served me vary well. Its not a ultra-book, but it is slim for what it is. Its pretty good on the go, multitasks very well, and most important it can run many of latest AAA games on high (darksiders 2, sleeping dogs, shogun 2, dishonored, dead space 3). With the upgrade in gpu and cpu it gets a good bump in performance. You can really feel the heat coming from the fan when running games, but it does a pretty good job of keeping it cool. When running games though I would recommend propping it up in the back, it does seem to help when I play for long periods. I did have one small problem. It started to click at one point, and the first thing came to mind was the click of death. I contemplated sending it in, but i am in school and need a computer. I decided not to. Any way i did not have any performance issues and it seemed to work itself out and has not clicked in six months. This laptop has been great for me, and would be great for any college student that pc games on a budget. It was the best value a year ago, and seems to still be the best value today. There are also i5 options for this laptop that are cheaper, but should preform about the same with games. The big advantage of quad cores right now are not games, but multitasking. I don't believe still today any big games are threaded for quad cores.
Pros: Currently can't think of anything positive to say about this laptop.
Cons: power adapter plugin is weak and will not hold the power adapter properly. Speakers are not loud even at high setting
Overall Review: I purchased the extended warranty. When I sent the computer in to have the power adapter and speaker issue resolved, the extended warranty company replaced the hard drive and put on a temporary windows system that needs activation, and said they fixed the power/speaker issue. (The laptop still has the power/speaker issue.) To activate the new windows because they replaced the hard drive, which didn't have an issue in the first place and I did not authorize the "fix" of the hard drive, you need the windows recovery CD, which for a price they can provide as "the warranty only covers hardware". I would strongly suggest not buying the extended warranty offered with this laptop and going to a local PC repair shop instead.
Pros: - Specs are great for the price - Runs most games at Medium/High at 60 FPS - Sleek and Modern design - Boots up extremely fast - Pretty good for video editing and rendering - Keyboard is beautiful
Cons: - Track Pad isn't very good at all (Not very responsive) - Mouse buttons are connected at the middle, making it awkward when you need to right click often. - Glossy body loves to pick up fingerprints. - Would've been nice to have 1920x1080 screen
Overall Review: Overall I definitely love this laptop. I got it $709 so I'm pretty happy. Using a wired mouse (which I would use anyways) alleviates the issue with the track pad and mouse buttons. Windows 8 is kind of odd but after re-installing the start button I actually enjoy it more than windows 7.

Pros: With the i7 and the 6gb of memory, this laptop can handle anything you throw its way without slowing down. Startup time is within seconds, partially due to Windows 8 itself. The 2GB Nvida Geforce GT 730M graphics card can handle any game I throw at it on all the highest settings(Battlefield 3, WoW, Call of Duty, Crysis, etc.) The layout of the keyboard is great. The keys are spaced perfectly and the right size. There is a number-pad on the right side, which is a HUGE plus for me as I do a lot of programming and data entering for school. USB 3.0, HDMI AND VGA, SD card reader, LED LCD, Webcam All around just an amazing value that comes with everything you could want in a laptop
Cons: Some might say Windows 8 is a con; however, once you get use to it, it will grow on you, and within five years I expect everything to be Windows 8 anyway, so we might as well get use to it. Obviously, the battery life isnt the greatest, which is to be pretty obvious with any mobile device so stacked with the hardware that this laptop has. It also runs pretty hot after a few hours of intense gaming, again, to be expected if you plan to push your hardware to its limits. It would be nice if all three USB ports were 3.0; however, only one is, and the other two are 2.0. Other than those minimal things - this laptop has no cons.
Overall Review: I might upgrade to 8GB of memory, which is the max supported by this machine, but that's only because I'm overly picky about that sort of thing and everything I have needs to be the best. Another thought, those of you who hate the Windows 8 start menu, download a program called, Classic Shell. It modifies your taskbar so that you have the classic start menu, while also being able to access the tiled version of the start menu It comes with alot of bloatware that Acer installs, but can be easily removed without hassle. If you're looking for a good bang for your buck, I highly suggest this laptop. I've been nothing but impressed
