Pros: Fast and light weight. Good battery life
Cons: Screen currently has a bit of the same issue as the Yoga 2, the yellows in battery appear a bit mustard in color than yellow.
Overall Review: Overall I really find this ultra-book a great purchase. All four of the main Haswell based devices seem to have some growing pains right now, most are hardware based and some are software. The Sony VAIO Pro 13 has some WiFi issues, the ASUS has some keyboard issues, the Lenovo Yoga 2 has some WiFi issues as well as color profile issues. This rascal shares the same color issues (yellow) with the Yoga. Of all of them, this seems to be the only one that is limted to a software based issue and software can be fixed. The core display issue that is common on the Yoga and the ATIV Book 9 Plus is an issue with maintaining vivid yellows in battery mode. Its a bit more noticeable on the Yoga than the Samsung. While noticeable (once you know about it) it's not something you would get stuck on. The assumption is that this will be addressed on both platforms with a graphics driver update and/or color profile. My unit shipped with Windows 8 (non-pro) 64bit. I did update very easily to 8.1 from the Windows Store. After removing some of the junk software that is packaged with the device I had about 79GB free in the SSD. Not too bad considering I left the recovery partition for now. The screen res is insane. Out of the box, the unit comes up at 1920x1080 with 125% scaling and it actually looks pretty good. You wouldn't notice that it's set that way. Change it to the native res at 100% scaling and things are very small. WiFi reception seems strong and the unit fully wakes from sleep before I get the lid opened. I had originally thought I'd hold out for the 8GB, 256GB SSD, i7 version but I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one. I wasn't looking for a desktop replacement, just a fast, light, long battery life ultra-book for day to day use. Daily usage includes includes Visual Studio 2013 and Office 2013. I do not edit photo's or video on the device. With my usage patterns (screen about 60% brightness, WiFi on, Bluetooth off ), I'm getting a good 7+ hours on the battery. As I have been working through charge cycles I am starting to see the battery life inch it's way up. I will not be surprised to top 8 hours by next week. For grins, I installed Steam and Civ 5 (about the only game I play) and the game runs pretty well on Medium across the board so for light gaming the HD4400 is capable. One issue I did have was Civ 5 doesn't like the 125% DPI scaling so running full screen games would probably require a regular 100% scaling factor on the desktop - or not. As it stands, I give this 4 eggs. The fifth egg will require fixing the slight yellow issue. Even with the one small issue, I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a forth generation Intel ultra-book.
