Is this compatible with MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Extreme OC High Performance Triple CFX/ SLI Intel Motherboard MOBO?

Yes. All modern gpus are compatible with modern motherboards. Your motherboard actually has 3 PCI slots, meaning you could SLI 3 of these cards if you wanted to.

The only thing you have to worry about when buying a GPI is if your PSU is good enough to support the card's max TDP. I'm using a 600W Corsair Bronze rated psu and have no problems. If you have at least a 600W, and possibly even a 550W, you should have no problems.

How much power suply does it need?

Max power required just for this card is about 250 watts, although it will rarely use that much.  I'd recommend a 650 watt power supply or bigger for your entire system, assuming one video card.  I have a 850 watt ps in my system.  You also need to be sure your power supply has two PCIe cables (if I remember you need one 6-pin and one 8-pin for the 780), or have molex to PCIe adapter cables.

Question 3

I Have noticed that MSI cards tend to be cheaper than the other brands. I was wondering if the cards quality was lower then the other brands. Does if feel cheaper and, is there a bigger chance of it failing? I'm like really scared to buy something that's 500 bucks than a month later to have it fail on me.

Construction is sound. I have the 780 gaming and and an msi mobo. I have had the card for 6 months with no issue and the mobo for a year with no issue. There are cheaper cards and cheaper brands out there. Msi pays attention to their build quality for sure.

Is this card HDPC compatible?

If you mean HDCP, then yes. According to the NVIDIA Control Panel, it is HDCP compatible with select displays.

Question 5

What is the best way to hook two of these to a 3 monitor array with just the two total display ports?

Unless someone knows something that I do not--You cant.

Display port does support higher resolutions, but not spanned across multiple monitors.  You will need to use a combination of DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort.

For example:  My setup is 3 Monitors running via 3 seperate DVI ables and 1 TV running via 1 HDMI cable for a 4 display setup.

You would be able to do this if you wanted to MIRROR to one of the display, but not if you wanted to "Extend" to this display.  Hope that helps.

Running SLI, will the Corsair AX860 power supply handle both?

Should be np considering im running one on a tx650v2. That being said find a wattage calculator online list your parts, and see what the recommended wattage is.

Question 7

I have two HDMI-based monitors and was wondering if this card would support both via standard HDMI on one and using a Display-port to HDMI cable on the other?

Depending on your adapter type, it should.  I am using 2x DVI and one HDMI at the same time (dual monitor DVI and HDMI to TV).  I have not tested the "stereo mode" while using all three, but I do have an extended desktop in Win 7.

I also have 2x Active Mini Display port to DVI adapters, but this card only has full sized Display Port connectors.  There were used in a previous AMD triple monitor build.

If my understanding is correct.. Display port does not utilize a Clocking source.  So if you are going from Display Port to DVI or HDMI, you will need Active Converters (which cost a bit more due to internal circuitry).

NOTE:  This was the case with my AMD hardware.  You could only have 2 passive (requires a clock from the video card) at one time.  Hense the need for the active adapters (which generate the clock for you).

I hope this helps, but i would hold off until you hear from someone that has tested this.  If i had full sized Display Port to HDMI, i would test for you.. But i only have the Mini to DVI Active adapters..

What is the covering made of, is it plastic or metal?

Been a while since I've held the card in my hand (That's a good thing), but it was definitely mad of some hard material; it was not flimsy. I want to say Metal, but I'm not 100% sure. If it is plastic, it is very strong and has no issues with temperature. I love my 780's!

I Have a question is the pcb on this card black or brown and, should I get this or the asus version ?

It's a darkish brown. You can only tell if you're looking at it carefully. Personally I like that color, but if you really want black, you should ask somebody who has the ASUS and see if that one is.

Question 10

Whats the max rez you can run this card at? (REAL 4k, Fake 4k, Less than 4k,  What?)

Yes it can run 4k and the 331.82 drivers enhanced this functionality but if you want 4k performance then you want a 290x but honestly 4k is not useful and is a waste of money and will provide poor competitive gaming performance; it also is too larger for ingame textures with the current level of gaming graphics.  WQHD or 2560x1440 is more than enough resolution for all your needs easier to drive with current generations of gpus(NVidia is faster at this resolution than the new AMD line price point per price point except for certain titles) and is actually over the hump of the peak of graphics competitiveness of the resolution 1080p and is still somewhat laggy but tolerable and not too far behind texture resolution for new games like BF4 and Crysis 3.  4k monitors are too pricey and even with SLI or CrossFire you are looking at slow laggy gameplay its a waste of money at this point in time when prices on 4k monitors come down and hardware has risen to the challenge there may be titles to utilize it and you will save allot of money buying it when you can use it as opposed to its initial market introduction.
