Pros: dl and installed fedora red hat on a new htpc box, dl and installed nvidia linux drivers from the nvidia site, connected the card's dvi out to a dvi cable and an hdmi adapter and i got a 1080p signal on my 42" lcd hd screen -- nice!

Cons: could be more of a challenge to setup on linux than windows

Overall Review: if you do this setup, make sure your xorg.conf file loads the "nvidia" and not "nv" driver, and that all other nvidia drivers are removed (I used 100.14.11

Pros: At stock, I got a 4.9 in graphics and 5.1 in gaming for the Windows Experience Index. After overclocking it using software, I get a 5.9 for graphics and 5.4 for gaming. For $-6-0-.-0-0 to achieve that kind of performance, it's cheap!

Cons: It runs a bit warm 130-150F under idle and normal operation, but it is offset by the function of keeping a quiet case. No Dual DVI (If you need it for the 30" LCDs)

Pros: Cheap with fairly good performance, but had ONE big problem. z0mG THE OVERHEATING!

Cons: OKAY. The first time I received this card, It overheated and damaged itself. So I RMA'd for a replacement. Next card I got started over heating also, luckily I shut down the comp before it could do any damage to itself. (I tested with a Nvidia 6200 card and it wasn't overheating). Then I got to the bottom of this. I took off the heatsink and then I found a PIECE OF PAPER with crusty thermal paste on it between the GPU core and heatsink. For your video card's sake, take that thing off! I applied some arctic silver 5 and strapped a 80mm fan to the heatsink. AND LO AND BEHOLD - 36C IDLE! WHAT THE HELL?! was what I said to myself. IT WAS IDLING 65C BEFORE! (and blew itself up on load on the first 8500GT I got). IF YOU HAVE HEAT PROBLEMS OR JUST WANT TO OVERCLOCK, TAKE OFF THE HEATSINK AND REMOVE THAT PIECE OF PAPER FROM THE HEATSINK.

Overall Review: First game I tried on it was bioshock. Sadly I couldn't run medium settings with high textures completely smoothly. I had 2.6 GHz dual core and 2GB of DDR2 RAM.

Pros: easey to install on xp and took only about 10 minutes.

Cons: you will need a fan

Overall Review: works great. can run orange box, eq2, and many other games.

Overall Review: 1) I was afraid that the humongous heat sink would interfere with the south bridge heat sink on the IP35-E MB but it has plenty of clearance. 2) If you live on the trailing edge of technology, you can divert more cash to your 401K.

Pros: The card is quiet (no fan), large heatsink, run most of the newest game at decent speed

Cons: GPU can get really hot, try to keep track of your card's temperature. I got mine running at 79'C (very hot), so I decided to mod a bit and stick a fan on the heatsink. Now it's running at 50'C fully loaded.

Overall Review: Buy an extra PCI-fan it will help cooling the card down.

Pros: Stuck this in a Dell Vostro 200 I bought for my mom. Fit's with plenty of room to spare in the mid-size case. I wanted something that would be low maintenance as i don't live in the same state so the lack of a fan is a huge plus. Performance is pretty good for the price and quiet design. I was surprised when i tested Everquest on it and had every setting on high in 1680 x 1050. Looks very sharp and clear with plenty of speed.

Cons: None really.

Pros: overclock this card like I did using ntune off of nvidia website. I clocked it to 600gpu and 500(1000) memory.stable and MUCH faster than stock clocks.

Overall Review: before I could only run medium settings in bf 2142 now after oc I can run all high 2 aa very nicely.8500gt is a mini 8600gt after you oc it.
