Pros: I usually wait to write reviews for a couple of months. For the casual gamer, HD or BluRay movies, surfing the net, watching online videos. It runs cool idle 21C load 35C max I've seen, Low power consumption, great heat sink & drivers are the bomb! Was so impressed that my brother bought one. MSI, Nvidia, Newegg & UPS thank you! Nvidia has won me back.
Cons: Black & Red would like to have black & blue. No cons..
Overall Review: I bought this for a multimedia build and wow. Was watching a movie, had my 3 fantasy FB teams up & messenger going. It didn't even have a hickup & the temps! I own a GTX 460 in my gaming rig & had a 5770 in this rig. Grrr major driver errors & heat idled at 38C now none. I did try playing Metro 2033 it had a little shutter & lag lower demanding games will be fine. I had to try it but not what I bought it for! Antec 900 Phenom II X2 555BE on 965 cooler OC 3.6 22C idle-31C load 6.8 Gigabyte 880GMA-UD2H mobo Wintec ddr3-1333 ram 7.2 Raidmax RX-630SS PS WD 640GB 6.0GB 7200 rpm HD's 5.9 Windows 7 MSI GTS-450 GPU 7.4
Pros: MSI quality, DX 11, PhysX, and budget pricing!! Can't beat it. If you are a casual gamer ... this is a great buy! I run Half Life 2 at 1280x1024 with everything on MAX ... runs liquid smooth. GRID set on HIGH runs smooth and looks great! Core Clock / Mem is set a bit higher than the reference speeds which is a plus as well.
Cons: None so far. I don't have any new games to really test this card out, but I'm sure it could handle it as long as you don't run it at some crazy high resolution.
Overall Review: Was looking at an ATI 5770, but the prices just never came down after the 6xxx series release. Saw this price and jumped on it! Was worried if this card would fit my case and if my power supply was up for the task. Everything worked out great. Card fits with room to spare and my power supply's PCIe connector has the 22A requirement the card asks for! I was running the on-board ATI 4250 with a Windows 7 score of 4.3. This card puts it to shame and rates a 7.0 and it should ... on-board video is really crippled for any sort of real gaming. * ASRock 880GHX AM3 USB3 * Athlon II X4 635 (2.9Ghz) * G-Skill DDR3 1600 (F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ) * MSI N450GTS-M2D1GD5/OC GeForce GTS450 1GB GDDR5 * Rosewill Blackbone Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case * Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W ATX12V Ver.2.2 / EPS12V version 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified *SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB *SAMSUNG CD/DVD Burner
Pros: Bought this card for my budget build to handle WoW and Starcraft 2 at ultra settings. It did not disappoint. Getting a stable 60 fps in WoW running DX11 while sitting in high-traffic areas like Orgrimmar.
Cons: Card is very big and blocks one of my PCI ports, but I knew it was this big ahead of time and have no plans to use that port anyway.
Overall Review: MSI approved my rebate. I figured I would point that out as MSI's rebate program has been under fire for quite some time.
Pros: Increased both overall FPS and Futuremark 3D scores significantly from my old 9800GT.
Cons: Does not vent hot air out the back of the PC case like other other cards. Not a big deal of you have good case cooling.
Overall Review: Captain Crunch is the best cereal.
Pros: Good price for product, easy to install
Cons: this cheap graphics card continually crashes my system. My system is a new build that i bought here on new egg running a Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge installed on a MSI Motherboard, 8gb ram, and windows 7 64bit, and all it does is crash it, you take the graphics card out and no problems, runs like a dream on the integrated graphics,
Pros: This this was fast and cheap
Cons: Heres the cons, i bought mine open box so it could of been because of that, but this thing was unstable!!! It cant handle anything that requres a load for more than 15 minutes. after that it blacks out the screen. Under the heaven benchmark it says the video card is diconnected. Eventually the driver get corrupted and con only be booted in safe mode. Its a nightmare. I then checked to make sure the power supply connection was firm and the video card cooler was loose and dangled above the gpu. I tightened it but the problem persisted.
Overall Review: I would say don't buy, but it was open box so i cant say its the same for everyone. Good Luck
Pros: Awesome card; I don't think I'll ever go to the dark side (ATI).
Cons: None
Overall Review: I was getting graphical artifacts and thought that it might be the GPU, but I also knew that my PSU was old. So I replaced the old 550W with a 750W, and the graphical artifacts were gone. Make sure you have a powerful enough PSU to handle this card and the other components.
Pros: An an early Christmas present I just received and put this into my computer. I also from NewEgg.com bought a OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W power supply to power this video card and take it from me this card IS AMAZING. I am coming from a GeForce 9500 GT which ran WoW at a solid 30 FPS with settings no higher than HIGH and shadows and light etc turned off. Now, I have every setting in WoW set to ULTRA (the hightest setting) Anti-Aliasing maxxed (I think 8x), basicallly, if I could turn it up I did. If you have not played World of Warcraft with the video settings maxxed out AND WITH DIRECTX 11 enabled then you are missing a big portion of the game. My rig: Intel Q6600 2 x Mushkin Enhanced 2GB (from NewEgg.com) Windows 7 Professional 32-bit One thing to note. TOMSHARDWARE.COM gave this card a non-favorable review (except for the SLI portion). I think TOMS might have been a little harsh. I am planning on buying an ASUS SLI-enabled motherboard and another one of these video cards so
Cons: -The hot air from the huge heat sink is not blown out of the case -Maybe they all are, but this card is freaking huge. With the card in I cannot add/remove any RAM because they are right up against the top of the card -I had to buy a new power supply to even use this card -Although the Nvidia driver worked perfectly on my Windows 7 OS I think the devices in my Device Manager doubled.
Overall Review: (1) If you are going to get one of these I recommend this specific card because of the timings etc and the rebate process was fairly simple and straight-forward (2) I recommend you buy two of these if your power supply can handle it. Per TOMSHARDWARE.COM these cards work very, very well in SLI mode (3) Quiet, relatively cheap, and easy to get drivers/install
