Why does the header say, "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 16 GB Memory", but only a 6 or 8 GB option is available for 1070?

They likely mean video card memory is 6/8GB, but the memory of the actual laptop (RAM) is 16GB

Does a nvme ssd work on this laptop or does it only have sata connections? Looking to upgrade the storage and I can't find this info anywhere.

Hello!  So I opened up the laptop to throw in my own SSD.  For the SSD it only supports nvme, but for the HDD bay it's sata.

How does this laptop handle an external monitor? External monitor recommendations?

It has an HDMI jack and USB type C.  Pick a decent monitor with a 120 mhz refresh rate, since the graphics card supports adaptive vsync - and the onboard monitor is 120mhz.  I use a hdmi acer 120mhz monitor and it works well.

It is 120hz, and I believe it to be the 2017 model, unless I'm mistaken the 7700 came out early 2017.
