Pros: I have the newer version of this board with the copper heat sink over the Nvidia so it dose not get so hot. No problems with getting my video card( MSI RX2600XT) into the PCI-Express slot
Cons: None
Overall Review: If you are using this motherboard with only one video card in it make sure you do not supply power to the 4 pin connector, thats right above the primary PCI-Ex slot, your computer will boot but there will not be any video. So only add a 4 pin power connector to the additional power connector if you have more then one PCI-Ex video card
Pros: None, Received 2 DoA
Cons: I purchased this board for a customer of mine and I've recieved 2 DOA, I thought it may be my RAM or something on the 2nd board so I tried it out on another Rig at my work, they all checked out fine. Props to Newegg for a easy RMA process though.
Pros: good mobo, setup was easy and it had 0 problems booting up, even with a fried Nbridge (read cons) running an am2 6000+ @ 3.2ghz stable, with air. decent OC options, but can be touchy about OCn. **for those who have a random shutdown issue, before you complain, make sure your wires are properly run for power/reset, the "white" wire should be the top wire on all plugs !
Cons: I originally had the early revision of this board, which was with just a standard alum heatsink on the Nbridge, not the copper one with a heatpipe. and as another poster mentioned, my Nbridge reached unbelievable temps, until I walked into the room 1 day and smelled burning electical. I immediately shut it down, and checked some thing, but could find nothing wrong, nor pinpoint where the smell originated, so I booted up the comp, it booted fine, but from then on I would get random error codes dueing POST.
Overall Review: this only recieved 4 stars because it has several flaws: 1. Nbridge gets WAAYY too hot, not an MSI problem, but board layout flaw; 2. very picky about memory; 3. very touchy about OCn. all in all, Id recomend this board to the casual gamer/overclocker, but not to a hardcore overclocker.
Pros: As with most MSI boards, the BIOS options are an overclockers best friend. I'm running a 5200+ Windsor at 3.12Ghz (2.6Ghz stock), 1.5V vcore with a Zalman cooler.
Cons: The 6 SATA ports are a little close together and if you're not using a bigger ATX case, you're gonna end up with HDD's covering the SATA ports.
Overall Review: After a bad experience with an MSI nForce560 board, I opted for this one and it has been so much fun to work with. For the price, I'm not sure there's a better board out there.
Pros: Low Price SLI board, Easy to understand design, Dynamic Overclocking tool great for beginner overclockers, MSI quality, in case anyone was wondering there is plenty of room for an Artic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro which is one of the larger coolers so I would imagine most would fit on this board
Cons: In box instructions are pretty much the bare minumum to get it installed and started up. No bridge fan, this hasn't been a problem for me as of yet but I do suggest that you have a good case cooling system.
Overall Review: Don't be scared off by the bad reviews. Take your time match your hardware correctly, enable everything you want in the bios, then install all of your drivers. Everything worked right out of the box for me with no issues at all got it hooked up and running quickly. I suggest that you Download the PDF manual from www.msi.com.tw/program/service/faq/faq/esc_faq_list.php and go to the download section to find it.
Pros: Very good board. A lot of options for a good price. Had no bios probs. No problem with drivers. Surprisingly(in reference to other reviews) no problems with northbridge or southbridge heating up. Easy to understand manual and bios. Plenty of options. Easily customizable. Raid was easy. came with lots of xtras in the box. SATA cables, xtra USB, xtra firewire, SLI bridges, IDE cables, floppy cables, etc.
Cons: No physical problems so far. Havent had to deal with MSI support yet so I don't know if they're helpful or not. Most everyone blogs for info anyway. As far as bad mobos, I've had asus, tyan, gigabit, dead on arrival before. MSI has become a recent favorite. It could have had another IDE slot, but I was happy to upgrade to the much faster SATA Raid anyway.
Overall Review: I'm running AMD Athlon 64 x2 4800+, ATI radeon x1600 pro PCIE(512), 3 Barracuda SATA on raid 0, 3gig ram, zalman cpu cooler, antec 500w power supply, 2 case fans (intake, exhaust), (2) dual layer dvd burners, a few pci xtras. With heavy video rendering for long amounts of time, I have had no heat probs or anything else so far. Maybe they fixed it, or maybe luck of the draw. For others, could be poor ventilation or underpowered. We'll see. I'll post again if I have a problem.
Pros: Overclocking interface is awesome, built in CPU temp monitor. Tech support was great for me, people were helpful and got me running when I had any problems
Cons: Heatsink is right between the PCI express ports. Havent had a problem yet but kind of a wierd design to be dispersing heat near your VGA's
Overall Review: M-S-I's tech support is great. I'm not sure why poeple are ragging on it at all. Their website has a huge forum for any problem you could think of for any product they make. Tons of updated drivers for the K9N on there. Sure theirs bugs, but AM2 is new technology and is bound to be buggy. Check their website for test builds if you plan on buying this board. It will help you to not have any compatability issues folks. research research research...

Pros: A great board, I'm very pleased with it. I was shocked to see the board was slightly different then in the picture but in a good way. Mine came with a copper silent heat pipe technology on the North Bridge. Im assuming they added to this to fix the heat problem. A great overclocking board.
Cons: Not true 16x sli though at the moment im not using 2 cards so im fine for now.
Overall Review: Only one ide connector, i had to buy the additional raid controller for my HD's but thats fine, i need to upgrade to sata 3.0 soon anyways.
