MSI Radeon RX 560 4GT LP OC

Series performance in a low-profile form factor

Great for new builds or upgrades, the AMD Radeon RX 560 graphics card turns your PC into a power-paced gaming machine. Based on the 4th generation GCN architecture, the Radeon RX 560 is manufactured using 14nm process, and features 1024 stream processors, 2GB/4GB GDDR5 memory and 128-bit memory bus width. It tackles e-sports and MMORPG games in 1080p resolution with top detail settings, and is also ready for graphics-intensive AAA titles in 1080p resolution with decent detail settings. In addition to DirectX 12 and Vulkan support, a host of gaming-enhancing technologies are built in, like Radeon FreeSync, AMD Virtual Super Resolution(VSR), and AMD Eyefinity technology, helping optimize your gaming experience in your favorite titles.

This MSI Radeon RX 560 4GT LP OC card features 1024 stream processors, is slightly overclocked to 1196 MHz Boost Clock (1175 MHz for reference card), and built with Military Class 4 components for durability and stability you can count on in demanding situations. Dual-fan thermal design keeps the card cool and operation noise at bay. A low-profile, with both full- and half-height brackets included, makes this card a great choice for HTPCs and various compact and thin systems.

Military Class 4 Components

One of the deciding factors in performance is the quality of the components used. That is why MSI only uses MIL-STD-810G certified components. Only these components have proven durable enough to withstand the torturous circumstances of extreme gaming and overclocking for extended usage.

With their aluminum core design, Solid CAP's have been a staple in high-end component designs and provides lower Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) as well as its over-10-year lifespan.

The Future of Gaming

The smoothest, fastest and most exciting gaming experience ever by eliminating screen tearing, display shutter and input lag.

Ultra-high resolution (UHD) delivers 4x the resolution of 1080p content, enabling much sharper and crisper images with delicate details during gaming.

Afterburner

MSI Afterburner is the world's most recognized and widely used graphics card overclocking utility which gives you full control of your graphics cards. It also provides an incredibly detailed overview of your hardware and comes with some additional features such as customizing fan profiles, benchmarking and video recording.

perfect for what its designed to be

Pros: low profile, low power, no need for 4 or 6 pin from power supply
100+fps in overwatch on medium

Cons: wish it had optional 4/6 pin to overclock it more but its not its design

Other Thoughts: in regards to other reviews, ive had no crashes, no issues. the fans run on average 2750 rpm with max being 2970 according to hwmonitor. max temp is 67C. ive had no crashes or artifacts doing stress tests either

Caution for Linux users!

Pros: Does work on many distros without hacking grub config files. Boots up no problems. That's not the end of the story.

Cons: Although the card works very well to begin with on Linux. You will have some issues that will not show up at first. This is mainly for Ubuntu/Debian based distros. Ubuntu 18.04, Linux Mint 19, and elementary os. You will have random bright flash periodically on the desktop. In Ubuntu you will not be able to play videos smoothly in Gnome (Totem) player. Random freezing. MPV is a bit better but not great. In Peppermint 9 and elementary os. if you put let the monitor go to sleep you may not get the signal to wake it up.
Your PC will be on but the screen will not come back up. It is very random.

What upsets me the most is how the Linux community goes on and on about how AMD is opensource and works great. I have yet to see it. Opensource is not worth a pile of monkey poop if it does not work properly.

I have replaced this card with a Nvidia one. Nvidia runs on all my Linux machines. I have not had any issues with Nvidia and Linux in the last couple years despite them being proprietary.

I hope I am wrong about all this and the card is just bad. But I have read other users having some issues as well. Hey AMD if you are going to support us in Linux then support us all the way.

Other Thoughts: I only used the opensource driver as I read too many users having "Black screens of death" trying the "amdgpu pro" drivers.
BTW works well in Windows 10. Unfortunately due to the lack of Microsoft understanding how a OS should treat it's users. Windows is not a option for me anymore.

Solid Peformance

Pros: I’m not a gamer…instead, I run this MSI Radeon RX 560 DirectX 12 Radeon RX 560 4GT LP OC 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express x16 (Uses x8) HDCP Ready card in a Dell XPS-8700 that I use for graphics work. Most of my work is done using Corel’s Painter 2019; PaintShop Pro and Draw software. I also use this same computer for producing videos using Corel’s VideoStudio 2018. This video card has now been in service for the past six (6) months without a single hiccup! The fans run so quietly that I’m sometimes curious if they run at all and the display renders changes as fast as I draw new content or as fast as I drag existing content. The GPU temperature consistently runs at right around 28C regardless of whether I’m working on a project or playing back a Blu Ray video. For the price, I’m very pleased…it’s a solid performer.

Cons: MSI’s configuration software takes a little getting used to. The automatic driver update feature is a bit too intrusive for me. I’ve turned it off!

Other Thoughts: I recommend this product.

Excellent low profile capable card

Pros: Compact with a robust thermal solution, doesn't require any power cables. Should fit/run in any system that has at least a 300w power supply. Runs good with the few games I tried on it. (see other)

Cons: Some graphical effects (high particles, etc) can slow the card down a bit, and the price is a little high if you compare the GPU's capabilities with other similarly priced cards on the market right now.

Other Thoughts: I really liked this card, to be honest. It worked perfectly on my low profile build and I ended up putting it in a friend's computer when his graphics card died. I played some Far Cry 3, Doom 2016, CS:GO and Killing Floor 2 on it, all ran fairly well at 1080p (paired up with an Asrock A320M-HDV, Ryzen 3 2200G and 8GB G.Skill DDR4-2400.) Doom 2016 on 1080p/High preset/Vulkan ran pretty smooth (50-60fps) but did get some dips down to 40fps whenever sparks or dense particle effects came up.

I might not recommend it for someone if they can already fit a full sized card as there are some better/cheaper alternatives but if you need a power efficient or low profile option and don't want to go for a Nvidia card, I'd call this a good buy.

Just don't

Pros: It's small footprint and low power requirements.

Cons: -Crashes on both old and new games to the point it becomes frustrating to run anything that puts a load on it.

Other Thoughts: Replacing it with an aorus. Irritated I even waited this long to dump it. This card is only good for internet browsing and videos. I've had it since may and it is a hot mess for gaming.

Card is performing well for me

Pros: -Price/Performance is amazing (Bought it for $115 with a $10 rebate) 40 FPS Dying Light 60 FPS Rocket League

Cons: -No external power supply connector is needed. I would have liked to see a six pin
-Card can dip in performance. But it gets the job done most of the time.
-Uses 8 lanes instead of all 16
-Runs hot (70's) however my computer is a Dell Optiplex with an i5 2nd gen in it. Does not get much air circulation in there.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend if the deal is there.

Works great in SFF desktop setup

Pros: -Price
-Performance
-Size

Cons: -No issues after a few weeks of my kids gaming on it for more hours than I'd like to admit
-Not loud.

Other Thoughts: Put it in a HP Prodesk 600G2 SFF with a SSD and i5-6500 and it works perfectly for a low budget gaming rig for the kids. Tons of performance for cheap. Probably going to buy another for another low-buck build.

My personal rig has a gtx 780 and I thought I was going to be unimpressed with what a $110 card could do but, while obviously not to the level of the now aging 780, it is a remarkable improvement versus any other $110 option for a low profile card that needs to be powered only from the motherboard.

Stay away from this

Pros: -SFF is the only pro of this card (which I think is the culprit for performance issues, so not even really a pro)

Cons: -This is the worst graphics card I have ever owned.
- Very unstable, keeps crashing, keeps losing the sound over the hdmi, flickers etc.
- The latest firmware and software are installed, the performance is still terrible and very unstable.
- Terrible thermal design. The fans need to run nearly at 3K all the time and they are considerably loud.
- Tried this thing on Win 7 with Legacy bios and Win 10 with UEFI bios with latest AMD drivers. Very unstable in both configs.

Other Thoughts: I would NOT recommend this thing to anybody. I am an AMD fanatic. I have owned a variety of AMD/ATI cards such as Sapphire Radeon 9550, Firepro V3900*, HD 5850 (x2 for xfire)*, R9 290X* and all my cards are AMD's but this is the worst AMD card I have ever owned. This is my first AMD graphics card from MSI. I cannot tell my frustration with this thing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS!
