I'm NEW to Radeon products and I have a newer Intel based CPU/motherboard. Will I have any problem with software and hardware using this with my setup? Will I be able to overclock this card? What overclocking software do you all recommend? THANK YOU in advance!

As in my experience having this product in my setup its been stable and satisfying. You don't need to overclock it by any external software, just follow instructions on which will show you to the RADEON software that you can see all numbers (temperture, overclocking settings). Just keep in mind you don't need to overclock it because he is powerful enough and goes well with mixed setups, like the AMD video cards and Intel CPUs, the only you need is a strong counter setup, in addition to the card need to have like 16 gigs of RAM and at minimum a 750 to 800w power supply to take it and keep it stable

Can you overclock it using afterburner and if so how high can you Overclock it?

MSI Afterburner does work on this card, you can also use the WattMan software from AMD, best overclock I've been able to do stable is 1400MHz, which isn't much over base clock, but I'm CPU bound and on a PCIe 2.0 X16 port so that is most likely limiting the available bandwidth for the card.

I have a MSI Radeon RX 480... same card but the 480... can I crossfire with this card?

Boy, Crossfire latitude has gotten restrictive.  Anyway, in your case, it shouldn't be a problem.  Same gpu.  The 580 pumps more power more efficiently through the components under load, allowing for higher bandwidth.  It's been done with no special accommodations.  I couldn't find a current version of a compatibility chart on AMD site.  Could be moot now that they are saying "same family".  From RX3XX onwards, crossfire has been implemented through the PCIe bus, no bridge needed.

IMHO Crossfire is the province of gamers with spare cash to get a possible frame rate gain of up to 30% in their favorite twitch shooter quad-monitor dedicated setup.  It's not good ROI for the rest of us and if you forgo it, you instantly get a 50% discount on your new board ;)    You'll always be looking for dual accommodations for your oldie but goodie twin cards , when money is probably better spent on a higher tier single card upgrade.  When Crossfire could actually cross generations, it was more useful from a technical perspective, because instead of dedicating to a purchase of 2 same cards, you could use one you had lying around from another build to get a little boost....but it's really never lived up to it's promise and problems such as micro-stutter exist to this day.  Drivers aren't great.  It defaults to lower frequency card and only memory is shared.  If not configured properly or poor game implementation, putting lower memory cards in can lead to system ram usage as opposed to higher ram single card.  Crossfire can be problematic and just doesn't seem worth it for the casual gamer or power user.  This coming from a guy that's using dual 5850 in 2x16 crossfire on a quad board DFI Lan Party DK Series 790FX-M2RS.  They don't make 'em like that anymore, but I'm due for an upgrade, and when I do, I'm going to try and resist thinking about a new home for those aged cards or buying another set and repeating the cycle.

Can you play 1440p games?

Yes this card should be capable of 1440p gaming as long as you are reasonable with your expectations and video settings (depending on the game you are running).  Some games will have an easier time running than others at that resolution but if you were trying to get consistent 1440p @ 60 FPS or above I would recommend a stronger card for more consistent performance like the GTX 1660 Ti. Anyone serious about over-clocking this card, or concerned about temps, should look at the Kraken NZXT and an AIO cooler, like Corsair H55.  I consistently sit at 25c idle and 55c in-game in BF4.  Much better for the life and performance of your card...
