Doesn't fit into case 7/27/2009 9:59:24 AM

Pros: It comes with screws that fit into the SSD. (Best to practice screwing in the screws before putting on the bracket, to get the threads to fit well, so it doesn't go in crooked later and strip out threads)

Cons: Doesn't work in Antec case. The Antec has many options for fitting almost any drive (best I've ever seen), however, the OCZ bracket does not line up with standard holes. I ended up using additional metal strips from a hardware store, drilling new holes, and taping in new threads (an hours work) to get this over-priced piece of junk to work.

Overall Review: As others mentioned, you can only hold it in by 2 screws (not 4), so one end flops around and blocks air flow. If OCZ would bother to look at a 3.5 inch Hard disk drive holes, they would understand that the HDD is longer than their bracket, and the holes in their bracket are much too close together to line up with the holes in a case.

fits fine 7/25/2009 9:37:24 PM

Pros: Fits fine. The screws are just long enough to mount the brackets on to rails that slide into antec case.

Cons: None

Does not adapt to 3.5" HDD standard 5/30/2009 10:19:20 AM

Pros: Price.

Cons: Does not work. The purpose of this bracket is to adapt to a 3.5" HDD cage. A 3.5" HDD uses #6-32 screws, and this "adapter"uses M3 (metric) screws, which are supplied with it. Problem is, if your case requires a longer screw (as many Antec cases do), you are out of luck, since the longer #6-32 (STANDARD 3.5" HDD) screws you have won't work with the M3 threads on the OCZ bracket.

Now, OCZ has replied to many complaints on here and will probably reply to this one as well with a generic "Hello! We are sorry you are experiencing problems! This should work with all standard cases!" Thanks, but no thanks... that statement helps very little. It's about like saying "We are sorry, this square peg should fit in that round hole!" It doesn't fix the problem. I design brackets for space vehicles for NASA for a living, and this bracket is about as simple as it gets... hard to believe they found a way to blow it. Try again OCZ, I will be RMA'ing this one.

Overall Review: Not a problem for me specifically, but in addition to using the wrong screw thread, they only have 4 of the 6 holes that ALL 3.5" HDD's have. If you have a case that needs access to the missing holes, you are out of luck.

Again, this is supposed to be an adapter to make this mount like a 3.5" HDD. In short:

3.5" HDD has: 6x #6-32 screwholes
This "adapter" has: 4x M3 screwholes

So they failed at both the number of screws and the type of screw. Poor form.

No problems here 5/26/2009 8:16:23 AM

Pros: Fits perfectly

Cons: NONE

Overall Review: I don't understand what people are talking about the screws holes getting stripped. If you install your drive properly there should be no need to remove the rails from the drive unless your putting it into something else. Just take your time, perform a dry run, check twice and screw once.
Recommended as an inexpensive alternative to other price solutions.

Hey it's a bracket! 5/5/2009 5:06:38 PM

Pros: Works to adapt a 2.5" drive to a 3.5" bay.

Cons: Needs more holes! My case mount only allowed me to affix this bracket with two screws rather than the four I'd have like to have used. Needed some kind of instructions -- took a few minutes to figure out how it went in.

Overall Review: Maybe better if I'd not had to install it in a spare 3.5" floppy bay instead of a bay designed specifically for a 3.5" hard drive.
