Apple Mac Pro require memory DIMMs with thick heat sinks, which we supply, using thin heat sinks will cause the following issues:

High temperature in Mac Pro chasis and your system fan will run very fast constantly to cool down the system. Mac pro fan is very noisy while running at full speed.

High temperature will damage your system and memory within 6 months. Due to that reason most suppliers who offer Mac Pro Dimms with thin heat sinks do not offer warranty more than 90 days.

Apple original DDR2 FBD DIMMs for Mac pro always come with thick heat sinks as shown in our picture. Thin heat sinks were never by Apple to avoid thermal issues.

Your Mac Pro model came with DDR2 800 PC2 6400 DIMMs, by installing even one DDR2 667 DIMM will cause all your modules to run at DDR2 667 PC2 5300. Apple never DDR2 667 DIMMs in your Mac Pro model, to keep running your Mac Pro at optimal speed always use DDR2 800 DIMMs.
