the fans died on my rx460. can i use this cable to plug the fans directly into the motherboard? I am trying to troubleshoot where my problem actually is.

Not sure... I used it so I could use a differant fan for my evga hybrid 1080ti sc2, as it uses the mini connection and most fans use the 3/4 pin connector and still be controlled by the GPU for fan speed and water pump control for the Hybrid GPU. You may need a female 3/4 pin connection to the mother board though depending exactly what your trying to do
