Pros: This card has helped extend the useful life of my Nikon LS-2000 slide scanner - an excellent (but older SCSI) slide/film scanner. The scanner has a female 50 pin half-pitch D-sub (HPHD50) latch-type connector, while this card provides for a female 68 pin VHDCI-68 connector, so a special cable was needed. This was difficult to find but I obtained one from Data Storage Cables (part #C7030-3PBL-OS). I run Linux - Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) 2 Betsy with the 3.16.0-4-amd64 x86_64 kernel, and together with a copy of VueScan, the entire configuration just works (no messing around with separate drivers, etc.). I couldn't be more pleased that this card was available from New Egg.
Cons: Also comes with a paper manual and ROM containing 'drivers and documentation'. These are not mentioned in the Newegg specs. I didn't need either, so won't review.
