Ferrites are devices that clamp around power wires to reduce high-frequency current transients. Most ferrites you see will saturate and stop providing protection when more than a couple of amps flow through the wires. However, these custom-made, high-saturation, auto ferrites are modified to allow significantly more current through the part before saturating.
What are high-saturation ferrites?
Ferrites are devices that clamp around power wires to reduce high-frequency current transients. Most ferrites will saturate and stop providing protection when more than a couple of amps flow through the wires. The custom-made, high-saturation, auto ferrites sold here are modified to allow significantly more current through the part before saturating. Watch the video below to better understand their function and installation.
Ferrites can withstand any normal vehicle transient as well as a nuclear-generated EMP without damage.
When to use high-saturation ferrites?
Clip-on high-saturation ferrites are used in four scenarios:
1. High current is flowing through the wires, and you cant easily get to the ends of the wires to feed them through a toroid.
2. High current is flowing through the wires, and a clip-on broadband ferrite is not large enough to go around the wire bundle.
3. There is not enough space to fit a large toroid.
4. The application is such that a solid, non-hinging ferrite is preferred.
High-saturation ferrites are available for the whole-house and automobiles.
How to install ferrites?
High-saturation ferrites clip around individual high-current wires.
