Important: A standard SATA motherboard cannot directly support a SAS hard drive through a passive adapter cable alone. The system must meet at least one of the following conditions: The motherboard supports SAS. An external or add-in SAS controller is installed. The SAS hard drive supports SATA mode. The cable does not contain a SAS controller or protocol conversion chip. Please check the hard drive manual and motherboard or controller specifications before purchase
