The Grandia GD09 is a culmination of SilverStone’s decade-long experience in HTPC case design and manufacturing into a product that every PC enthusiast can enjoy. The incredible efficiency in which it utilizes all available space results in a case that is close in size externally to Micro-ATX based GD04 and GD05, yet capable of fitting most important full size standard components including wider ATX motherboards (SSI-CEB) such as ROG or other gaming-centric models. All drive cages have been designed similarly to those from the popular ML03 case to provide maximum flexibility in drive configuration without the need for additional adapters. For cooling, all positive pressure and smooth airflow designs were retained from previous Grandia models while improvements were made to filter access for even easier maintenance. With the GD09, there has never been a more attractively sized HTPC case that is as capable and user-friendly. So whether one is looking to build an affordable or a powerful PC, this case can definitely satisfy both ends of the requirement.

Very pleased with this case

Pros: Solid and very thoughtfully designed. Every screw in the case is the same, meaning you don't need to keep track of anything. Easy to work in. Sleek and understated appearance to nicely match stereo components. Cable management is pretty straightforward. I love the blue LEDs on the front, which match nicely with the blue LED fans I used.

Cons: Part of me wishes that there were room for an AIO, but the whole intent of an HTPC case is to keep it small.

Overall Review: I have read complaints about noise, but I find the case good. The noisiest part of my system is the HDDs, and there is no silencing those. I'm switching to storing my media on a NAS and leaving out HDDs altogether. A MVMe drive for the OS and a SSD for transitional storage will be perfect. I found 80mm fans noisy, so turned them off. Otherwise I have three Corsair ML120 fans and they are smooth as silk. Use a good CPU cooler, PWM fans and a customized fan curve and it's whisper quiet.

Capacity is 1 SSD, 2 HDDs AND an optical drive. Using adapters you could fit more SSDs, but the cabling will start to get tricky. Remember that this is an HTPC case, not a server. If you want 8 drives and a RAID arrray, this is not your case. Similarly, this is not a gaming case. If you need a full-size 1080Ti running at 100%, you're going to need more room and more airflow.

If you want to use the front left placement of the SSD (mounted to the floor of the cabinet), then I recommend a shorter PSU. Of course, I'd recommend a shorter PSU in any case. More room to work is always better.

Overall, I am very pleased with this case. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Simple workstation pc

Pros: I looks nice, allowed mounting of additional cooling fans. This was a custom build for a friend that need a quickly made pc to fit under his desk in his study. The measurements on the case were to the letter and fit nicely into the space.

Cons: none

Overall Review: This is too small for an HTPC build for my library (6 ea HGST 023267 8TB drives). I'll be using a Node 804 with an I5 8600 running plex, smaller footprint, low power and more storage capable. If you need a workstation, this fits the bill nicely.

Great Quality, Not So Great Expansion

Pros: - Very sturdy
- Very good looks
- Keeps fans quiet mostly

Cons: - No room for ANY kind of closed loop water cooling solution
- No room for more than one hard drive if you have an optical drive

Overall Review: I have a standard hard drive, an SSD, and a blue-ray drive. You would think there'd be room for just that in this case since it's so large. If you have an optical drive then there is only room for one hard drive, no matter the size. So now my SSD is kinda floating around inside the case next to the connectors for the front headers. It also *looks* like there's room for a 120mm closed loop radiator/fan next to where the CPU sits, but it does not. Your motherboard will obstruct any proper seating, and there's no way the tubes will stretch all the way over to next to the PSU.

Other than those two things, this case is pretty great. Very smooth, and nice construction. Very sleek looking, looks great in my entertainment center.

Good case

Pros: Good case at this price point. Other cases have more features, but cost quite a bit more. If someone needs more options they should buy one of those. Plenty of room inside for routing power supply and other wiring. case fan is quiet enough and the cleanable filter is easy to access, clean and replace. The location of the drive bay leaves plenty of room to access the motherboards memory slots. I use an SSD for a primary drive and being able to mount it to the bottom of the case leaves plenty to mount a hard drive in the drive bay.

Cons: No it's not aluminum and plastic. They should change the description to steel and plastic. The LED's are a little bright.

Overall Review: Except for the description, this case is what it says it is, a basic HTPC case. It has all the features in the description and it's an easy starting point for an HTPC build. If you want more drive bays, a card reader etc get a different case and pay the additional money. This case is a good buy at this price. I may put a little dark blue paint on the LED's.

Props for a horizontal full-size ATX case

Pros: - Horizontal
- Full-size ATX
- Side ventilation
- Clean design

Cons: - As noted by other reviewers, paint is not up to par
- Blue LEDs
- Logo is way too dominantly placed for the brand; should be darker or an emblem that can be removable
- Only one 5.25" bay
- No way to remove front plastic (rivets)

Overall Review: I don't know why horizontal cases aren't more popular and there aren't more options out there. This is a very cool, retro-looking case, especially if you replace the obnoxious blue LEDs with yellow and green like I did—it looks like an IBM ThinkCentre. As an HTPC case it looks nice with my A/V receiver stacked on top. I would recommend but only since there are few alternatives. As an impulse buy, I'm not disappointed.

Great HTPC case!

Pros: -Lots of space to build in. can fit up to a full size mobo.
-Deep case for good air flow.
-Easy wire management with some zip and velcro ties.
-Looks great without giving it the Im a PC vibe in the living room.

Cons: -Not enough spots for HDDs unless you're not planning to use the CD bay for a drive which in that case you get 2, so buy larger drives to make up for the lack of space.
-Only comes with 1 fan when you should use 3 to promote good air flow (buy your own 120mm fans) and the fan that comes with it isn't that great, replace it with your own.

Overall Review: I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to build clean looking HTPC
