Can I use this to power 2 fans and then plug them in to my power supply?

that's a good question, I had to use this
Wire to get power from my motherboard ,i believe it was a 3 pin or 4 pin. I have to take a look at my desktop to see how I have it hook up. But im  quite sure that im getting power from my motherboard.I believe I've tried to  hook it up that way and it did not work.

So i am getting a 500 watt evga psu and it said 3 molex connectors. So i can use this and connect 3 fans useing one molex bc my case comes with 4 fans. yes or no?

First: it works. Second: the coboc's psu connector is molex and two pronged. It's pure power nothing for information. The fan connectors are all different. One is four male, one is four female, the other one I can't recall. Use the zoom on the image at newegg.com. It's helpful.

Question 3

Will this work with any fans? I have two front 140mm LED fans from corsair that use 3 pin connectors would it be okay to just use those connectors on the fans?

That will be fine. If you don't connect the 4 pin connector to the motherboard they will just run at full speed. If you connect it,  they should have variable speed.

Are all three of the fan connectors 4-pin?

1. Does it need to be plugged into the fan header to work, or will the molex alone work?
2. Can 3-pin female (fan part) be plugged into 4-pin male (power part)?

Must be plugged into a molex  connection straight from your power supply to activate all leads.

Can this power three 4 pin fans?

Yes, that's what it is designed for. Your three PWM fans would connect to the three male fan plugs.  The male molex goes to your power supply, and the female fan plug goes to your motherboard fan header (optional).  For best results, use the same type of fan, because the RPM is picked up from only 1 fan and the other two are slaves.  If you don't hook it up to a PWM fan controller, it will operate at full speed.
