I was able to use an i5 9600K with my old Noctua CPU Cooler from a much older generation i5 and it booted up with no updating required. Been running solid for a month now.

While I have not personally tested this, Consider that Slot #1 operates in PCIe Gen 3 x4 whereas Slot #2 operates in PCIe Gen3 x2, the "x"indicates the lane numbers used. This being said, Gen 3 can provide 8gb\s per lane, which means x2 = 16gb\s  and x4 = 32gb\s. While your desired configuration may be functional, it may also result in less-than-desired speeds on one of the nvme.

It depends on whether you are overclocking or not i would say. this has basic functionality for overclocking so it isn't bad.  otherwise, yeah this is a great motherboard for strictly gaming.  this is their mainstream version so it is a super solid well rounded motherboard and can totally handle gaming. the other versions will be a little bit flashier and have some better heatsinks around the processor area but again, if you aren't overclocking then do not worry! you made a great buy :)

ASUS website answers this question and provides you with BIOS update if needed.  Unfortunatly Newegg won't allow me to paste this website in here so you will have to search for it yourself.

Basically, If your motherboard BIOS version number is greater than 2203, then you will not need to flash your BIOS.  The latest available BIOS version is 3006.
