Pros: More hookups than you will ever use, as always, I have been using Asus boards for 16 yrs and yet to have 1 Fail. This is by far the one of the best boards for seriously dependable day in and day out operation in my opinion. Dual LAN, Dual M.2 sockets.
Cons: price is high, but you get what you pay for.
Overall Review: I recently built this for the engineering Dept. at work. https://www.newegg.com/core-i9-9th-gen-intel-core-i9-9900k/p/N82E16819117957?Item=N82E16819117957 https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813119167?Item=9SIAFJ8A1A8062 https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232472?Item=N82E16820232472 https://www.newegg.com/intel-660p-series-512gb/p/0D9-002V-003Y7?Item=0D9-002V-003Y7 https://www.newegg.com/intel-660p-series-1tb/p/N82E16820167462?Item=N82E16820167462 https://www.newegg.com/evga-liquid-cooling-system/p/N82E16835288008?Item=N82E16835288008 https://www.newegg.com/amd-100-505956/p/N82E16814105110?Item=N82E16814105110 https://www.newegg.com/corsair-rmi-series-rm650i-650w/p/N82E16817139136?Item=N82E16817139136 This rig just made short business of everything I put it through, at 100% cpu utilization @ 4700MHz 0.929V, ram @ 4300MHz 1.393V. 3D video test AMD WX8200 Pro card averaging 259 frames per second. this ram is the fastest I ever used and the cpu is nothing short of excellent. System temps startup 29C, idle 24C, and 57C at full 100% utilization of 8 cores/ 16 threads for 4 hrs burn in. System power usage averaged 127.37 watts Now will get to see how she handles SolidWorks 2019 edition in full motion video.
Pros: ASUS WS Z390 is not a beginners board. It was perfect for my hybrid desktop/server aka workstation. I am very satisfied with the quality of the board. The dual M.2 with heat sinks was a must for me. Support for parallel GPU boards provides enterprise server like capabilities at consumer pricing. The board supported all my components :-)
Cons: Review security alerts with regard to BIOS upgrades depending on your board; The WS Z390 was not impacted. I would have appreciated the fine print about the 2nd M.2 slot being turned off if you use one of the S.2 slots being more clear in the fancy marketing website. It would have helped me better plan my style and type of ssd and disk drives.
Overall Review: Note: RGB AURA is really only accessible if you are running Windows10 or higher. You get a default sequence with other OS'. It would be great to be able to set AURA from the BIOS..
Pros: Great layout. Good components. Runs cool. Heat sinks for M.2 drives look and perform well. DIMM and PCI slots are very tight and well constructed. You have to use a lot of force to get the ram installed.
Cons: Maybe wish it had wifi. But I don't really care that it doesn't because I was able to put in a really good card.
Overall Review: I am not a gamer. I use this board for heavy Adobe work. It works great. It was pleasant to build on, runs smooth and great. I have not had to update the bios. The following components worked on start up with no problems or bios updates needed. Intel 9900K (not overclocked) Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 (hits 74C max with cpu stress tests) 64GB Kingston HyperX 2666 RAM (I chose 2666 for reliablitly) PNY Quadro P2000 Samsung 970 Pro M.2 512 GB (C drive) Intel Optane 900P 240 GB (Adobe work drive) WD 4 TB RED drives in Raid 1 for storage ASUS PCE-AC88 Wifi Card (Very snappy internet performance) I am very happy with this board so far.
Pros: Clear Documentation Workstation-grade drivers Ports for days
Cons: N/A
Overall Review: A great board for even the most complicated setups. Decent BIOS settings as well!
Cons: Minus an egg due to the inconsistent and poor packaging.
Overall Review: Packaging made me wonder if the board was an Open Box item; twice! I returned the first board because the box was not wrapped in cellophane (which I understand may not be spec for all manufacturers), the box had a razor cut near the lid opening, the board's bag was opened due to the tape having been removed and put back, and worst of all, the board had a warp from end-to-end. The replacement board is not warped, but all other things mentioned previous existed minus the tape on the board's bag; no tape at all. I buy a new motherboard once every 5 to 6 years and I thought I would have received better quality packaging especially at this price point. Not sure if this is on the side of Newegg or Asus. Here's to hoping this board will suffice for another 5 years.
Pros: this MB was simple to install and power-up Config: i7 Coffee Lake 6 Core CPU 32 GB Memory 2x 1TB SSD The built in 7 Segment display makes guessing what went wrong a thing of the past. BIOS passed on first power-up. Environmental controls in BIOS and online utility are much better than previous versions. Fan control is a real plus. I highly recommend this for anyone considering their next bare metal build.
Cons: None
Overall Review: In my opinion, Asus quality is great, and I would recommend looking closer of their product lineup.
Pros: - System is fast and responsive with i9-9900k, 64GB RAM and Nvidia Quadro P4000. - Two PCIE slots simultaneously at x16 a feature that other Z390 boards are lacking.
Cons: - You will lose some SATA ports once more than one m.2/u.2 slots are occupied. - No built-in wifi
Overall Review: I have been having the system running for about a month now. Initially I had system freeze-ups both in UEFI firmware and in Windows. Sometimes, even the reset button wasn't responding forcing a complete power cycling. However, since the BIOS/firmware update, I have not experienced any more freezing and the system seems pretty stable though I haven't tried OC of now yet. Switching from dual Xeon motherboards (EVGA SR-2, Asus Z10PE-D8 WS and Asus Z10PE-D16 WS) to a single Intel processor system, I realized some limitations: Using two or more of the m.2/u.2 slots will result in losing some or most of the onboard SATA ports. On another note, considering the relatively high price tag (among the Z390 based motherboards), I would have expected built-in wifi. Some less expensive ones do have built-in wifi so why not this one?
Pros: There has information about this motherboard pros and cons but for me in a real live person who ordered ASUS WS z390 Pro 1151 LGA and I build that desktop PC with i9 9900K intel cpu and Noctca D-15 two tower and G. Skill Trid. Z 32GB 3600 MHZ. That cpu keeps at 30*C all way when I'm using it. Beast motherboard!
Cons: Ya
Overall Review: 10/10
